Yes you can. But this is a Q&D approach, If you need to get that sophisticated, you probably should be using a different method. Although one other advantage of DebugView is that it catches messages from multiple threads and has quite accurate timing so you can do rudimentary profiling as well.
Haven't tried this, but it is a similar approach to the logfile/logviewer approach. String formatting is not supported by OutputDebugString() but it can be hacked in with vararg macros. Can you set up filters to watch only your program every time your restart the debugged program?
