After all it's the only way to save planet earth from annilation by the human species.

I agree here.
We need LESS PEOPLE here.
Not that I hate people, I just don't like ALL of them
The more people are around the higher the odds that one of them is going to just tick me off faster
Less people, lower odds, everyone is happier all the way around.

How do you propose to get rid of the masses?
Well according to the conspiracy theorists 21/12/2012 will take care of that. According to the movie I will also be safe as I live at the Cape of Goodhope (Cape Town).

21/12/2012 is the Mayan equivalent of the old Y2K "bug"; expanding their calendar to the next cycle would resolve that forecast catastrophe.
Now if only we can convince the budget holders that programmers are needed to take care of the Mayan calendar rollover in the same way we did for Y2K we're all back in paid work. Yayy!

Just imagine no need to work ever again.
You can spend quality time with your kids and wife (as you no longer come home drained and irritated from work)
You can buy what ever gadget your heart desires.
You no longer have to worry about increases and or promotions (as the perosn with his head up the bosses backside usually gets the promotion eventhough he/she might be a mediocre developer)
You can tell your boss, ceo or whoever else at you place of employment to take their job and shove it. Then you buy the company and fire the @ssh0les.....

And then start running it your way, and soon you would be back into the 'mix' of the job again.

For those who like their work, this is not good.

I don't know about others, sometimes too much kids and wife can a source of distress for me. Fortunately I can come to work to get away from it temporarily.

In that case I'll employ you.

You really haven't got into the spirit of that kind of money. Your text would have been much more correct were it phrased something like:
You can spend quality time with your kids and wife, and concubines.
And that a way to greet-the-seasons.

"...spend quality time with your kids and wife..."
Are you even married? A few weeks with the wife and kids and you'll be begging for your old job back.

Exactly. My ~ 18MBit comcast connection does not help with slow page loads from gmail or codeproject.

I'm good with my Verizon FiOS 20/20 service here.
50/50 would be cool but I have yet to saturate what I have now to really care.

making mistakes and doing research is part of the process of learning. If you mastered everything right away you learn nothing along that path at all and never really expand.
Come on folks... don't be so afraid to make mistakes, it's all part of the discovery process. In fact mistakes reinforce the key learning's in our mind. The worse the mistake the more we dig and the more we remember because of it.
man, getting it ALL right out of the chute would be as boring as hell.
