Before my current job (hi Steven!), I'd never used one. Having had one for a couple of months, I'm leaning towards evil. I've never had lower back or leg pains before, and now I do. The only thing that's changed from before is the chair I use.

I sit with my legs crossed (like those people that do meditation). It´s good to work... and didn´t give me any leg problems so far...

Are those the black chairs made with the mesh type material for the seat and back?

I really enjoyed them. I especially liked all of the levers and gadgets that they have. But I no longer work at that job so I not longer get that enjoyment.
I noticed that my legs hurt every now and then in that chair, but my back felt really good in that chair. Also I would sit cross-legged sometimes and that seemed to solve my leg aches.
One other thing is they come in 3 sizes (A,B,C), are you sure you have the size that best fits your body type?

Perhaps you have it set up wrong? Or perhaps it's the wrong size for you. They come in a number of different sizes and when I was trying them out I found the ones that didn't fit to be very uncomfortable. Then it took me a while to get it set up correctly, since then it's been great.

I just now looked at the Herman Miller site and saw the different sizes... I'll have to see if I can get a bigger size, or heck just get a regular ol' chair.

Repetitive stress injury. An injury that results from doing the same motion over and over (such as typing).

Tendinitis is one of the RSI. We call them LER (Lesões por esforços repetitivos) here.

I voted "none" of course. But for the last 1 year I have had recurring back pain and occasionally neck pain too. I also get sudden attacks of headache. I have a sinus problem at times but this is the no-sinus headache. I occasionally used to have migraines too during my teens.
And about an year ago I had severe eye pain and suddenly everything was blurry. Smitha thought I was blind. The doc said [I somehow managed to get there] that I had something called CVS which is Computer Vision Syndrome. During my teens I used to sit late at night with my computer and the lights used to be switched off too as everyone complained that the light reflected through the ventilator maybe all that has compunded with the fact that I sit in front for 16 hours a day.

Ah, a like-minded individual! But be sure to have adequate lighting when working. A reflected (vs. direct) light source works best, imho.

Nish, seriously, it's done wonders for my work environment at home. Now I can work 18-20 hours at a stretch without hurting my eyes. Of course, my back is completely gone by that time.

After 20 hours, that's not very surprising

Just as I got your reply, my back went into a spasm. Weird man! I think I need to give up this hacking thing and become a sanyasi. Too bad Hari Polavarapu's taken the domain name.
