How to create .TS to .MP4 convertor

hi all

i want to write the program which can convert .TS file to .MP4 file by using FFMEG.exe, but I meet some problem with coding below.

1.I try to write code command into cmd.exe by give commend control into ffmeg.exe to convert .TS to .MP4 at any folder I need but I don't know how? and when it finish convert .mp4, it can auto to close the cmd screen.

2.I try to create one button click to browse my current folder where I being running the application from. I still can't find any solution about it yet.

I really hope someone can't help me about it.

You can use the Application.StartupPath Property[^] to get the directory where your application is running.

I never tried this project, so I can't tell, it was more to show how you can call ffmpeg. Good luck!

may i know how to write the code which i can click to browse into application which i being running in Bin\Debug folder ? i have try this code but it show only main folder or root folder only which is not point into Bin\Debug folder i need. pls help me if you know

Solution 1

You can use FolderBrowserDialog Class (System.Windows.Forms) | Microsoft Docs[^].

If you want the cmd window to close when it finishes then use the /c option.

could you help me to full statement to control the cmd.exe , when it start to process to convert .TS to .MP4, let it create into any specific folder we need, example i want to create mp4 into folder name "Down" and when it finish create file, it auto close the cmd.exe

If you type the command into a simple cmd window yourself, you can see, and check, exactly what you need.

Richard, i still wonder with one code below, i try to write code to control cmd.exe by give code to make of file into folder "DOWN" and continues to give one more commend to make file convert from .TS to .MP4 ? do you know how to do ?

the problem inside this code like this, i try to create one convertor program which can convert .TS to .MP4 by using with FFMEG.exe file compeller, this FFEMG.exe need to using with cmd.exe.

I try to write code to commend cmd.exe to process convert file and put finish file .MP4 in one folder "Down" but i could do only ask cmd.exe to covert outside the folder "Down". i dont know how to edit the code to make it process as what i need in using cmd commend. pls help me if you know

You should provide the complete path for the target file of the ffmpeg command. But I have never used ffmpeg so I cannot offer a suggestion how to do it. Maybe just something like:

Process.Start("cmd.exe", "/k ffmpeg -i " & FileName2 & " -c:v libx264 " & "Down\\" & FileName1 & ".mp4")

hi, Richard, may i ask more question relate to code in cmd.exe? I want to write more code inside the code you provide me yesterday like this:

1. when the cmd.exe is finish to covert the file from .TS to .MP4, i want to add code to make cmd.exe to exit or i want to make cmd.exe to continues remove the source file .TS before exit.

how can i do that? i try to think using if condition but not working because i dont know how to write the code continue to control cmd.exe to make it execute. please help me if you can. thanks in advance

You probably need to write a script and run that. But I would not advise it. You should not delete the source files until you have checked the results to make sure the conversions worked properly.

If you just want cmd to exit when finished then use the /c option istead of /k.

You can learn more about cmd by opening a command window at your console and typing 'help' at the console.
