A friend of mine has been thrown in the deep end. With what amounts to zero programming knowledge, this individual has been made a programmer (most of you might call him a developer, but we have different titles in our shop). This person is lacking in anything more than the most basic computer knowledge, and is working with other people who talk so far over his head that he often doesn't even know how to explain what part he doesn't understand.
I had hoped he would be made a programmer when we were still using Authorware, as that's reasonably easy to cope with, even if you don't know anything about computers. However, we've retired Authorware, and are working strictly with C#, Flash, html, xml, sql, etc.
Does anyone have any good suggestions for someone who's been thrown in this deep and told to sink or swim? Books? Tutorials? Anything?
Thanks in advance,
Apeneck
