Are you sure that wasn't a bowl of petunias pretending to be the hamsters?

It's spreading. Now I can't remember anything at all, hamsters or not.
I have lived with several Zen masters - all of them were cats.
His last invention was an evil Lasagna. It didn't kill anyone, and it actually tasted pretty good.

I worked for a company and wrote a utility function. I had a problem and called the help desk to find out who could best help me. After a short delay, they gave me my name and phone number! I was no help to me at all!
- I would love to change the world, but they won’t give me the source code.

You've written so many articles I'm surprised you haven't yet commented on an article only to later realize it was one of your own...

Ok, someone beat me to it...that'll teach me to reply to a message before going through the entire thread...

The daily news had a story from gartner about technology trends,
one of the top 10 items was "Human Augmentation"
It reckons this is using technology to help humans
but:
- from the title (my initial guess before reading the description)
- but even more-so from real life
I really think gartner has that bass-ackwards.
OIOW: hands up anyone else finds themselves an extention a slave to technology

Well, I make my living using technology.
All my hobbies involve technology (although I guess I could go out for a walk or read a book).
Of course when I finish that book I need technology to buy a new one (which was also created using technology).
The technology I need was created using different technologies.
Technology keeps my food and drinks cold or frozen and it's technology that helps me prepare it.
Winter is coming and even though it's still 20+ C inside the house I do sometimes have the heater on on a cold day which is, you guessed it, more technology.
I could go on for a while, but you get the idea.
It's probably not what you (or Gartner) meant, but I'm going to put both my hands and feet up into the air

I suspect (hope even) that you don't go for a walk without clothes; so you're you're probably even more dependent on technology than you realise!

We are all slaves to it, whether we use it directly or not.

We all surrounded with technology...
The question is what you are doing when that technology stops working?
Where is your breaking point?
If a broken phone paralyzes you, you are enslaved...
If you starting to panic when the washing machine flooding the flat, you are only overreacting...
A heating refrigerator will freak out almost anyone...

My sister was once asked by a ten year-old pupil: "Miss, did they have technology when you were young?"
She told him that she's have to search her memory banks and get back to him.

Without technology we couldn't exist as we do.
They call me different but the truth is they're all the same!

you know that windows defender has been rated among, if not the best AV solution for win10.
[on the rare occasions I us w10] I've never bothered with anything else
- long time immune to the snake oil sales pitch put out by AV companies

Some of the other solutions (I'm looking at McAfee particularly) are worse than the viruses it protects you against!

helped someone set up some lenovo laptops, they bundle in mccafe
among the first things I did was remove that and switch them back to defender.
not being picky, [showed the guy why]: mccafe kept on bitching and stopping during install of the official xerox printer suite and drivers. One wrong answer and kiss using the office printer goodbye.
