Well, given the numbers involved[^], you're right not to try to do it by phone.
I love this statement to bits:Quote: In the last forty years, incarceration has increased with rates upwards of 500% despite crime rates decreasing nationally. Hey, Mycroft, can I borrow your clue bat[^]?

Who thought that imprisoning criminals leads to a reduction of crime? He must be crazy!

..that is not what it is saying; crime is going down, and yet there are more criminals locked up.
Which is not surprising, given the monetary incentive

If a criminal is locked up he isn't able to commit crimes, thus the decrease. It just means that police forces are better at jailing criminals before they can commit a relevant number of crimes.

den2k88 wrote: If a criminal is locked up he isn't able to commit crimes, thus the decrease. First part of your argumentation is incorrect. You can commit crimes while being locked up. You are also assuming that crimes are mostly committed by repeating criminals.

The Dutch have already built one wall; all <you know who> needs to do is to flood Belgium and Germany, and they'll build the others themselves.
If you have an important point to make, don't try to be subtle or clever. Use a pile driver. Hit the point once. Then come back and hit it again. Then hit it a third time - a tremendous whack.

The trouble is that if you rope that "horse" of yours to the bars, it's likely to pull the whole building away.

I think it has enough torque to do that.

Why waste the gas. There are a lot of jails here where if you time it right, you can walk right out the front door.

I fear several different things. Only one of them could be, and has been, settled here.

Well, I see the lounge has gone off on the typical HILARIOUS tangent, but no, you cannot get in trouble for inquiring about someone. I'm sure there are more than just the State of NY's incarceration web site to help you out. Enable your google fu.
