So friend of mine had a video on youtube for a long time and one of the commercial music company used it in their song without his consent. They posted song on youtube. Then they filed a complaint to Google and Google took down my friend's video as copyright infringement.
What can he do ?

Was the original video featuring your friend's song? As in he sang it? If so, you can sue the other company for copyright infringement. Talk to a lawyer.
