My grandfather was getting shot at a lot. He was a Sergeant taking his platoon over the top on the first day of the Somme and he was about a foot taller than any of his men.
He went on to fight through to the Armistice and was in the Home Guard during the second match.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning
We will remember them.

Another brilliant example of establishment newspeak assimilation. It was written by a pacifist as an anti-war protest!

My grandfather was in the Alonquin Regiment from Canada; I don't know where he served in Europe, but I honour both your and my grandfather's service.

IIRC Papa was in the 36th Ulster Volunteers; though it may have been one of Inniskillings.

My grandfather was also in WWI (and WWII). He never talked about it. He was in the Royal Horse Artillery but still served "at the front". What those brave men went through we can probably hardly imagine.

3 can't be an O because there are no English words that go ".AOO....." except in Scooby Do.

OK. So, 2 == A, there is one O, no E, 3 is not a vowel. So 3 is likely to be one of "DFLMNRST".
Let's try NANNONNN and see what we get.
