I got a new Kindle Fire 7 for $34.99 on black friday and it just arrived monday.
(Quad core 1.3Ghz, dual cameras, 8GB expandable w/ SD --- so much goodness) -- and it performs very well.

I knew it used the Amazon store (no google play) so I knew I may be limited.
However, then I learned that I couldn't get Google Docs. AGHGGH!!!.
I often take my pad to the cafe and sit and write on Google Docs so when I get home my doc is on my laptop ready to go. It's quite fantastic.
Anyways, today I successfully sideloaded all the APKs for Google docs onto my Kindle Fire and it works perfectly. No need to root the device. I still have my factory warranty in place, but I can also install apps I like.

It's as simple as either :
1. starting up an emulator and grabbing the APKs you need for google services, google login and google docs
or
2. if you have a phone with those items, you can hook it up to your computer via USB, grab the APKs off using ADB (android debug bridge) and then install them on the Kindle Fire.
It's quite cool and you get the best of both worlds -- amazon coolness and other apps too.

Shared Bookmarks
I can't remember how many times I've bookmarked something at the office, only to forget about it when I get home. Or can't remember the URL wen all I have is my phone.
Why not create a simple service that takes a caption and the url, then passes it to a service, which then broadcasts it to all devices that are running the app.
The "Shared Bookmarks" can appear in your browser, phone, tablet, etc.
Been done already? Comments? Thoughts?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

I've stopped using CP's bookmark feature. Instead, I email myself the link and store those messages in a folder called [Code].

Chrome already does it, if you are logged in to Google+
I use it to transfer links between my tablet and PC - it works with your bookmarks and history.

I have a droid phone and like Google docs, google chrome etc. for that reason.
Once you use Google docs / drive which is very seamless to every device I use (work desktop, home laptop, phone, (new) kindle fire (sideloaded), old nexus 7 pad) then you are pwned by Google. But it is soooooo easy. Yes, I am pwned.

Chrome (and synched bookmarks) & the Google Docs apps work just fine on iOS & OS X. Have for years...

If you log into Windows (8 and above) with a Microsoft account, your IE bookmarks, along with tons of other settings from other apps, follow you everywhere. Without you even asking I might add. Whether that's actually a good thing or not is left as an exercise to the reader.

In Google Chrome it is since years available, if you use a google account. I heard that Firefox is doing the same. In earlier time there was an addon. XMarks or so.

Didn't they do the same thing with the "round seated" plane design? I'm assuming it's an idea that someone wrote on a paper airplane and threw it, then they made a patent "just in case."
