Munchies_Matt wrote: Is that any reason to hate Amazon?
Don't mistake pointed criticism as hate. Likewise, just because an idea sounds good, doesn't mean you should gloss over the problems in its execution.
(BTW, that article is from 2002. Amazon lost less money in 7 years than Uber loses every six months. Uber has been increasing it's losses every year, not reducing them. Add to that its mismanagement problems and its a wonder that it's still around. Given its cash flow, I don't expect Uber to just disappear, but rather to be heavily restructured. The new CEO, Dara Khosrowshahi, strikes as a very smart guy with a good track record. It will be interesting to see what he does with Uber.)

I really enjoy going back and re-reading my articles. Sometimes, I find myself asking if it was really me that wrote them.
Seventeen years on CP next month (and I was here for a couple of years before registering as a user, too).

Yeah I get in a reminiscing mood every now and agin and go back and look at my articles.
Looking at then and now, I've grown a lot.

Probably the CodeProject editors spiced them up a bit

I know you're just being sarcastic, but I think there's a standing rule at CP not to f*ck with my stuff. They may be in Canada, but I can easily cross the border without being noticed.

in my code base, and use them quite often. And I know they are not the only thing I've learnt from CP, by far.

Wow. That one wasn't even well-received.
Maybe I'll re-evaluate it and write a new version of the article for C#.

Had to look myself up after reading this.
Holy crap, I've been here for over 16 years.
The only account I have that might be older (and still used all the time) is probably my personal Hotmail account.

You think your first article is still relevant? Or technology has changed a lot.

My first one was posted 26 Nov 2000, and was a MFC-related article. I don't know if it's still relevant, or after going back and looking at it, it's really short, and the code might even be a little buggy.
