I've entered the church many time but just can't seem to stay long enough to get baptized.

Many years ago after my last XP meltdown and before I bought my Mac - I joined the Ubuntu cult for about 18 months. There were ups and downs, trials and tribulations but at the end I decided I just wasn't cut out for that particular religion.

Ditto...I still go to the altar now and again because I have an RaspberryPi and BBB and I have several sects on VMs but can't go main stream.

I still have an old Dell in the basement with Linux Mint installed. I power it up every month or two and let it update itself... not sure why.

Not sure why either but I start up my VMs every so often for the same reason!

I was on various *nix for many years, but I went mainstream Windows in the late 90's. I am getting close to flipping back, it miffs me that much!

It's so tempting [I mean, what harm can it do right ] but I don't want to lose Windows Media Center.

I'm not keeping current on acronyms. Now isn't this one unfortunate for the good doctor:
"Dr. Salem Foad is a rheumatologist in Cincinnati" I bet he came by it long before the common web usage did.

According to the caption of its "Eyewitness Picture Of The Day" the Guardian has learned of a whole new meaning to the words "thy destruction draweth near".
Quote: Residents watch as mount Sinabung volcano erupts while travelling by public transport in Karo, North Sumatra, Indonesia

I'm not sure that links help at all in this case. All the pertinent information was included in my post - I didn't intend it as click bait; there's more than enough of that!

I dunno - without the picture you get the impression of lemmings trying to tweet pictures of the wall of red hot lava that is about to engulf them.
With it...they're pretty safe at the moment, and likely to be using the only transport they can to GTFO of there!

Kinda missed the point though. The caption as written in the quote gives the impression that it is the volcano that is travelling by public transport! That was why I thought it worthy of mention.

I also travel to work with public transportation every day and have not yet met a volcano there. I already wanted to get one of those[^] to protect myself from all kinds of viruses and diseases, but I will need something more resistant if I need to protect myself from travelling volcanos.

That suit will not protect you from travelling volcanos.
However, in the times I have used public transport, they would have come in handy to protect from the other passengers...

That was my intention, but I did not know that there may be travelling volcanos.

I've just uninstalled update KB3035583 and I'm happy to report GWX.exe and the window in the tray are gone.
Yes, it takes a reboot. argh!!
Why didn't MS provide a simple uninstall?
You have to go to windows updates...find KB3035583 and all that.
The poor helpless user will not even know.
IMPORTANT
While typing this message Windows Update popped up and told me there is :
1 important update.
You got it, KB3035583. Terrible.
It is marked as update for Win x64. Nothing else.
