These kind of questions are generally not accepted on CP, but I'll give you a hint nevertheless.
Search for a book about "Hacking" and some knowledge will be "Exposed"!
Use this knowledge responsibly. There is a full tool stack explained in that book to find security flaws in your systems.
Some of these tools are used by a big company to make their systems safer from hacking attempts.
Cheers!

Employ an ethical hacker, companies are out their who will run penetration tests on your site and produce detailed reports on any and all vulnerabilities.
either that or get trained as an Ethical hacker

Well there are Tools with that you can run several "hacks". Unfortunately you have to find them by your self. The problem with such Question is, that (As you will learn if you choose to become a white head or penetration testing hacker) information about this topic is not easy to provide. In most countries the one who taught you is responsible for the mess you made, that's why you have to sign a paper that reliefs him from this responsibility.
I recommend you to get a quick course for "Hacking" and read a book to that, finally you should learn some techniques to think of what could possibly be attacked and how. Then find (create) the code, most "Hacking" is a craft of creativity.

Metasploit is a good tool for pen testing:

NOTE: If you do not own the server - you better make sure you notify whoever does BEFORE you unleash this tool on the site you want pen tested.

Is the machine hosting your site turned on?
If it is, then yeah, it can probably be hacked in one way or another.
But seriously, you can only look for things you know about. Your question is so vague, this might as well be the only accurate answer.

I know someone who owns a sports bar with 20 TV's. He wants me to build a tablet app that can control all the TV's.. Seems like the device would need to transmit and be able to pair with the TV.
Anyone know of any way to do this?
If it's not broken, fix it until it is

Are the TVs all the same manufacturer, make and model?
Are they SmartTVs?
Are they all connected to the LAN per WiFi or cable?
For most SmartTVs there are already apps out there to control them.
Sniffing the packets transmitted over the network with WireShark may shed some light on how the protocol works, but I'd try to get information from the manufacturer beforehand. My experience is that you'll have to pair the device with your TV(s) so that would have to be done too.
Cheers!

IMHO you should start with a simple Google search and read a few of the articles to start with...
Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

if budget allows I would rather go for some "control server" where the app connects too.

Don't they already have universal remotes for that? I think they do.

Here is the situation. I have some nice icons for various audio files that look a hell of a lot better than the stupid orange-striped traffic cone for VideoLan, which have 4 sizes associated with them when opening them in Greenfish Icon Editor. It used to be that in these particular views, the 16x16 icon would be displayed, which is what I want, as the the larger icons aren't so good when small, even though they are great when large. However, now the 32x32 icon is displayed, which I don't want.
I think I know why this is happening - I recently set the Control Panel Display - Screen Resolution to 125%. (I would go back and reset it just to prove that I'm right, but I don't feel like going through a pair of reboots.) Short of updating each of the icon files so that the 16x16 icon is blown up by x 2 (which would be a bit of a pain in the a33), I can't figure how to do this.
Thanks
