It seems that 50% of the target population got two shots, but it is reportedly slowing down...

Hadn't you both had the virus already? Isn't counts as vaccination?

The vaccine is a myth. I've been trying to get it for my 83 year old mother since it became available, and no can do. No reservations are ever open at any of the vaccination sites.
I even asked one pharmacist "who do I have to bribe with money, drugs, or a good hearty to get the lady a shot?"

It probably depends on your location. Here in Florida the population 65 and older were the highest priority after healthcare workers. I managed to get appointments a month ago for us, but admittedly I had to keep clicking the "make appointment" button a few dozen times, as the website was overwhelmed.
Best of luck to you.

Pfizer, first shot eight days ago - Mrs. had Moderna.
It seems that if you go to a more ad-hoc facility (hers was a high school) then you get Moderna and if you go to someplace "substantial", medically, you get Pfizer. Likely storage based.
Also, some government-built-in-place super-centers (sounds like a mall) they often get the extra-cold storage equipment. Near here (Jones Beach parking lot, where I could not get an appointment) they have Pfizer.
It's nice to know the deadly danger part is all but gone (mutations notwithstanding). Serious immunity in effect before spring arrives.

I'd rather die than get the vaccine. (The irony is pretty thick in that statement.)

I didn't want it John but the only way that the UK will ease the lockdown is by the majority accepting it. Vaccine won't stop people dying anyway.

The farce is strong in this one.

Had second Moderna a week ago last Sunday. Missus had her first 2 weeks ago.
If you can keep your head while those about you are losing theirs, perhaps you don't understand the situation.

Hi All,
Since Covid-19 or 'The Virus' hit the UK last year for a variety of reasons I have been stuck with my Mum, working from home as a new starter at a company I have had to be careful to ensure people see what I am or trying to do. All seems good, but now I have come across an issue, I have to 'take' Mum to the doctors for a blood test, normally she would drive not a problem. At the moment shes finding driving awkward due to a strained muscle in her back. So I can skive off, be honest and tell people I wont be around for an hour and work an hour later(my preferred option) or take the morning as Holiday?
What Would Bob Do?

Simple choice:
1. Be honest and tell your boss why you need some time off.
2. Lie and risk getting the sack.
|
|
|
|
|
Hmm, thats what I was thinking
|
|
|
|
|
Be forward... don't lie.
Missing 1 hour for personal issue should be a no-brainer in most instances company; just work an hour later another day.
Just put a message on your instant messenger app of choice : "I'll be away for one hour, can be reached in case of emergencies at xxx"
I'd rather be phishing!
