So I downloaded and installed VS2022 Preview.
Now, when I go back into 2019, various "features" that I turned off are now back on, like Preview Tab, CodeLens, and other usesless BS.
Thanks MS
If it's not broken, fix it until it is.
Everything makes sense in someone's mind.
Ya can't fix stupid.

Well, if you will install pre-Alpha software releases ...

Yeah, well those options are all saved in user registry/%APPDATA%, so what did you think was going to happen?
That's why I ALWAYS install pre-release stuff in a VM first.

Pre-release or not, all versions of VS, if I have to have more than one, go into their respective VMs on my system.
I realize MS says it should all work side-by-side nowadays...but then you get reports like this.

Yep, and that's why I now only run one version of VS in production.

Still, reasonable to expect that different versions would have their own configs. This is just laziness on part of the devs.

Indeed it is. The best way we found to ensure a proper 'root' to our application's registry tree was to force everyone to use the same wrapper class for registry access. The class requires everyone to use relative subkeys.

Uhm 'Preview Tab' ?
Surely he turned it off by mistake!
Uhm, 'CodeLens' ?
Turning it off was a big mistake!

Or is that not how you spell it?
Back in January, I posted this: Oh dear, looks like another small energy supplier is going bust?[^]
I just had an email from them: they have.
OK, it's not just the cash flow, there are loads of extra reasons recently:
Green wrote: The current market conditions are unprecedented, with record wholesale energy prices pushing the cost of energy above the price cap. The fire at the National Grid interconnector site in Sellindge on 15th September led to wholesale electricity and gas prices reaching new record highs. Beyond the fire, 2021 has seen incidents at other production sites, unplanned outages, high demand for Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) tankers, Brexit, the Suez Canal incident, and the Beast from the East II to name but a few.
But ... I think they would have gone soon anyway ... That's a PITA, it's switch time anyway, but gawd knows who I will be allocated to ...

I want to, but after last years dramatically emotional event with Panos Panay almost in tears as he talked about their amazing grey laptops and Microsoft branded Android devices, I'm just not sure I can take it.
Having said that, it does at least contrast with the scary fixed smiles of the Apple event last week.

Microsoft event: Nope - I don't personally own a Windows PC... and my employer provides Dell laptops (FBOW).
Apple event: Is it just me or do the pre-recorded Apple events have even more fluff and less substance than the live Apple events? I wouldn't have thought it was possible but there ya go.

No, but I've heard a lot of positive reviews about this.
