That's all I can come up with

Half of MARKET as an anagram (di=unno what is the indicator) with PART for a wall. But the rest? No idea ...
Hopefully, I'm wrong.

Yes but he mentions part in the clue - why is ram I corner ?

You are up tomorrow!
Sorry for the late response, I dozed off.
Here is how I envisioned the solution:
Corner TRAP
Part of the MARket
Climbed Went up (reverse) TRAPMAR
Wall == RAMPART
So, let's see if I have this right. Yesterday I won because no one got the solution but it was a failure because my clue was invalid. Today I lose because my puzzle was solved and that is success. No wonder these are so hard!
So, better clue today?

Better, yes - but having "PART" in there twice is a bit confusing.
Well done though!

Hi,
Here is what I came up with for your 'rampart' target word. Could make a somewhat legible sentence associated with the financial markets.
Hedge market split and made a comeback before the trap backfired. (7)
Hedge = definition
market split = mar
and made a comeback = ram
before the trap = ramtrap
trap backfired = rampart
rampart
Keep participating, I am looking forward to your future cryptograph clues.

Not heard rampart referred to as a hedge.

Yep,
I exchanged it at the last minute as a substitute for Wall Street market[^]. Something came up and I didn't want to spend more time on it. Feel free to modify the clue, there has to be a way to fit Wall Street into the clue.
I'll have more time in about an hour.

Thank you for your response.
In my clue I had meant for "part of" to mean to take a piece of "the market"(the letters "mar" in this case), but I missed the fact that "part" was also in the solution itself. I also meant for climbed to mean reverse "trap" and "mar" after they had been combined to yield the solution which was perhaps also a bit confusing.
Your suggestion is very illuminating and will help me in my future attempts.

I solved my first Wordle without looking up the word (did that yesterday and wasn't even close the two days before that)
Pretty good one too!

Now if I ever solve a CCC I can die happy

Well done - the CCC is (depending on who sets the clue ) easier than Wordle, you have 4 hours and no guesses limit.

To me CCCs are gibberish - and they are even in my language. Wordle is much easier for me.

I'd rather you didn't - die that is!
As an aside, a couple of years ago someone signed my email up to an American company, so I keep getting emails with the subject "Die happy tonight" which was rather disconcerting - turns out it's a New York lap dance club ... if I find out who it was ...

For me, solving a CCC is a million times easier than setting up one. Often it is the fear of setting up the next CCC which discourages me from giving the solution.

Don't worry, your CCC makes no sense to me...
I'll sooner die (unhappy) of natural causes than solve a CCC
Also, I didn't say I'd have to die right after solving one
