On the way between Castelnuovo Berardenga and Lucca you have San Gimignano.
It's a tourist trap, but still worth a visit.

It's a nice tourist "trap", been there twice.
we also stopped for lunch at San Miniato.

I'm also an experienced (pre-COVID) air traveler. The wife and I recently flew domestically (US) for the first time in 3 years. Total PITA...
* Airports were super busy.
* United Airlines' "new" pre-check baggage drop-off system is seriously broken.
* Aforementioned airline's employees are inefficient and often rude.
* TSA is even more screwed up and inconsistent than they used to be.
* Due to the ridiculous baggage charges most people try to only "carry-on". If airlines merely enforced their own written rules 1/2 of the carry-on bags would be checked and boarding could proceed easily.
* Idiot passengers need to keep their mouths shut when flight attendants are dealing with other idiot passengers who don't wear their masks correctly.
* The drink service onboard seems even slower than I recall...
Thankfully my ANC ear buds worked very well!

Travel - what be this travel thing you talk about. Got back from Singapore a year before COVID and have not left Queensland since. Not sure I would do an OS trip these days, I dread getting stuck in an obscure part of the world.

Hi all,
Using W11 here.
Working with a laptop plugged to a dock station with 2 external displays.
I am super used to use the keyboard to do lots of things, including opening the windows menu. ^^¡ (not a super shortcut I know).
But when I press the Windows key the menu opens in my laptop display.
I know I can change the main display to be one of the external ones, but... then icons also move to that display.
Do you know of any way to be able to open the Windows menu in the external display of my choice without having all the icons moved there?
Thank you all!

You can't - the taskbar is where it appears, and that always shows up on your main display.
About the closest you can get is to have a taskbar on very monitor ("Taskbar settings"..."Taskbar behaviors"..."Show my taskbar on all displays") and then you get a start button on them all which opens it "locally" rather than on the main display.
And no, you aren't the only one complaining about this ...

They could just open the menu in the display the mouse is or just being able to define which display the menu opens...
But... patience...
Thanks for your answer...

Ditto here with three monitors, Win11 and a dock station. My issue somewhat different in that I got a new tv/monitor, quad def. If I have only two monitors in use, I can get it to display 3840x2160. But then I activate that third monitor and it reverts to 1920x1080.
Once I got all three monitors in UHD so I know it is possible, but it only happened that one time.
If anyone has any thoughts on this...?

I'm still used to 640 x 480, so all else is gravy.

Check the specs on the video card in your laptop. It may simply not be 'strong' enough to handle high resolution on 3 monitors.
Good Luck!

Ah, I have had this exact problem.
Check your system, does it have 1 or 2 video cards?
Are both still active?
Turns out, mine had 2, and I had to use specific Ports to use both video cards!!!
Changing the ports once time, forced me into a similar situation, and it took a while
to get it worked out.
Then there was the fact that windows "remembered" the downgraded resolution, and I had to
go through it at the Monitor Level to get it back.
4k Monitors are nice. I now have a 50 inch on the desk, replacing 4 regular monitors. NICE!
Just wish I had room for 2, LOL

Hm... isn't it better to have more physical displays to be able to arrange windows easier?
It's a genuine question... years ago I went from 1 display to 2 and it was a real productivity improvement, now I have 3 (including the main laptop display) and it is even better... going back to 1 display... even it's big enough... Don't know if I could get used to it again.

Hmm... Keep in mind a 4k Monitor = 2 x 2 @ 1920x1080 (Which I used to have)
My monitor is 3840x2160... I have software that aids in Quartering the windows. (So Win+Home/End/PgUp/PgDn puts window in TL,BL,TR,BR corners)
I have ZERO Bezel gap. I Can maximize my code window (and often Do). I have ZERO borders/lines on my screen.
Also, I OFTEN do 1/2 screens (Left & Right)... It's visually PERFECT.
And with Multi-Desktop Mode, it blows your mind. It's very "seamless" by definition.
And I am never fighting with Monitor Arms.
I will say there becomes a point of diminishing returns. If I used an 80" monitor for this, I'd have the neck of a Super Hero from all of the movements...
And even if I did 60 inch, I would seriously start looking at curved screens!
And FWIW, I find it cheaper than 4 Monitors. Although I feel the TV that I am using won't last as long as my monitors normally do... It does a GREAT JOB as a TV as well, but I only watch stuff ONLINE anyways.

First of all, thanks for your post!
Sounds great... which is that software that allows you to manage one display as if it were multiple displays?

My Pleasure to respond...
AquaSnap (I use the Pro version), but play with the regular version.
There are a couple of applications IMMUNE to it's keystrokes (like Acrobat).

It won't solve all the problems, but I use "Dual Monitor Tools" for my multi-monitor woes.
For the system menu issue specifically, I agree with what has already been said. The only work around for now is to put the taskbar on all screens.

Possible work around: Install PowerToys and use the Power Toys Run. You can choose to have it open the search on your primary monitor, the one with the active window or the one with your mouse.
Couple of other really useful utilities in there too.
