Some JavaScript lines do not need semicolons. Maybe it thought your C++ was JavaScript? Needs to crunch some more languages whether human or AI.

That'd be awesome. That means we could send them off to their own forum we could ignore and they could keep themselves busy.
Can we take that model and extend that to the whole internet?
(although I suppose this is what Facebook is doing today - I have all their properties blocked in Pi-Hole, and I remain blissfully ignorant of anything that's going on there...)

My Dad was career Army and made sure we had some of the same chow that he and his team had to eat during WW2.
Not sure why it is so popular in Hawaii.

In the time before bots, I had two mail servers talking to each other.
looking at email stats I noticed the top sender had sent and received hundreds of thousands of emails.
Upon investigation what had happened was the person had put an out-of-office notification on, as had a customer on her account. I cannot say who fired the first shot, but both were replying to out of office messages immediately after receiving an out of office message.

A bit tenuous but I'll have a go:

Audition stages - could be SETUPS
Disturbs used as an anagram indicator for SETUPS
Disturbs also used as definition - gives UPSETS.
Just don't ask me which of the two is the solution (if either!)

That is sort of how Greg composes clues so I'd say there's a good chance you are right

Just as well as I just noticed that the clues I had prepared and left on a sticky note have AGAIN vanished leaving older and newer entries unaffected. Does Microsoft have some sort of crossword hatred algorithm going on?
