No. Sort of... I sort of blundered into this retirement thing. I just turned 65, and over the last couple of years I've had some health issues. It makes you re-evaluate your priorities. I'm not dead yet . Going to work up an article on this - my first ever.
As for your specific question - the time to push is not at the end. Unless you have royalties or some such thing.

This is true sort of... unless your application and thousands of devices in the field depend on Microsoft supporting their product as they had promised to do. Then, Microsoft makes a left turn and screws you. Years later, the Microsoft people reach out to see if our team wants to use them. "Sorry bud, we're OS agnostic, our interface is all JavaScript hosted in an embedded browser, we we for elephanting sake don't need your eco system." <--- true story.
I never really did much desktop development, my main area was embedded systems and Windows CE and WEC7.

Possibly from the past though.
I posted on Thursday about the Royal Mail and it's tracking systems, but I've just had an SMS from the company that sent the delivery that arrived on Thursday to say they just sent it ... so either it's going to willan-have been on-delivered before it willan-dispatch was on-sent, or I'm getting at least one more to be delivered at some unknown point in myfuture mynow.

In north western washington state. We missed the heat dome, but I'm whiner when it's anywhere near 70F and I'm trying to sleep. Also comedic license.

lol. You are in a section of the country where you need a/c 5, maybe 10 days a year. So most places don't have it. I have friends in the northeast who have the same predicament. Here in the South, we embrace ac systems. Happen to have 2 4 ton units - which are LARGE units. When I want ac, Sauron bends his knee

70? We hadn't had that low for months. For the last 3 weeks it wasn't below 90 and it is not expected to get lower for the next two months...

I wish I had a 70F room to sleep in...lately, nights have been holding steady between 80-90 in my bedroom (aka my office), and I've been sleeping on a couch in the basement, which just wrecks my back. I have central AC, but the bedroom is at the opposite end of the house, 2 floors up. The room is facing southwest, so it starts baking in the sun at 10 in the morning and won't let go until the sun goes down. At 1am you can still feel the heat radiating from the brick walls.
I made the point of replacing all PCs in my bedroom/office with a single, tiny Beelink (Intel NUC type of PC), which I use to remote into systems I have elsewhere in the house. Yet you can still feel a difference in temperature as you walk in. It's not the PC's exhaust. It's the fact that this room's got 2 walls exposed to the sun all day long.
For the last few years I've been spending my summers sleep-deprived, groggy most of the time and in a foul mood because of it.

I can't imagine running any server in a closet, unless it's got some serious ventilation.
