Five and a half years ago a question was posted in QA. I made a suggestion (at the time) which I thought would be fairly simple. I just got a reply from the OP explaining that implementing my suggestion would take too long.

Funny, looks like he returned to the site because another member asked some questions on the thread. Also, I think the technical problem could be solved with an out-of-process COM server running inside a DLL surrogate[^].
