It'll be Friday by Wednesday -- we can reflect on life then. Anyone fancy a spot of tea?

Oh, top hole!
I say, it's a bit chilly and wet out. Have you seen my bowler and brolly?

Earl Grey smells to me like Dettol.
You may drink it if you wish, but I'll stick to my "proper" coffee, thank you!

Dettol ? Is this some kind of cleaning product (google says so)?
Define "proper" coffee please

Coffee that doesn't have any tea leaves or perfume in it, like that Earl Whatzit stuff does.

To add to Marks answer, it comes from a bean, not a jar, and has not been messed with to reduce the caffeine levels in any way.

Grind it and add water - sorted!

The one I make!
At least 1 spoon of coffee for each small cup of water.
Add a very small amount of chicory.
Use a decent percolator, no instant stuff.
No cream, no sugar.
I use grounded coffee from Douwe Egberts, but I can grind my own stuff. Apperantly the real good coffee beans have moved through the digestive system of a cat ... (but I have never tasted that, pretty expensive and not found in the average pub.)

chicory is interesting choice to add in your coffee

Very popular in French speaking countries.
I don't like it myself, I think it adds too much of a bitter note.

Oooh, where to start?
Australian wine is (on average) better than French wine. Some French wines are superb, but the quality varies far, far too much.
The food in Britain can be (surprisingly) better than in France - not always, but it can. The range is certainly a whole lot better.
French coffee isn't actually very good - it has too much chicory, and is frequently over roasted.
That should start a small war!

Well, actually, until now, I thought you were joking. I did not think this would go that far. This is national offense. This is trolling at the extreme. I am going to slam you with my baguette ( Just give me a few seconds to prepare my white handkerchief first).
