I dunno either, and I don't use one of those. But According to all of the 3 people discussing here[^], it's an important phone.

Samsung GS4
I had never seen the need (or indeed had a need) for a smart phone until I got my grubby little protuberances on the GS3.
Now I cannot live without it.
All fully integrated so you can receive an email and use a date within that email to update the diary directly, linking to the contacts list to draft a message ready to be sent etc.
Plus all the usual phone stuff and connectivity, plus all the Samsungy gadgety bits, plus a screen large enough to read easily.
RIP Blackberry, your crown is taken.

nice but the business world has different requirements, ease of system maintenance, security, control etc, does android in its present form offer those? the techies here say no but then again they liked the stuff blackberry gave them

So when the BBM is integrated into the Android OS that will solve the secure messaging aspect.

if it was just that then I would agree but android as yet hasnt the infrastructure (then again niether has Apple and to some degree Windows)
I guess it whether one of the above step up with a full BB like package or business decide that they cam make do with less
one proble is that BB have shown that the business market is not suffcient to maintain a business at this level

I'm going to disagree with you on this one. I've been playing with the Galaxy Note 3 for a couple of days - it's a wonderful piece of kit. The battery life is good (charged up Sunday, and still 40% remaining despite some heavy use yesterday). Yes, it's larger than a normal phone but, as I have long fingers, holding it is no problem.

Nice, very nice.
I understand that quite a few phones do email these days though.

Whatever they write an app to do BBM messaging on. If all you use it for is standard email, then any smartphone will do.

My silly s-i-l has one. It was a cheap deal when she signed up for it in Joburg. It wasn't long after the launch of the new range. She knows of only one other person to have bought a BollockBerry. Her daughter.

2) hunt down the perpetrators for playing practical jokes on unknown people in a public place
That said, I think all of the people in the cafe were actors and/or in on the joke.

I think the whole "big ship overtaking overhead" thing has been done before, hasn't it? I'm sure I've seen it somewhere.
Maybe it's time they tried to find a new idea or two.

I got one of these the day it was released a couple of weeks ago, because if you pre-ordered you got a free accessory pack which includes wireless charging. This really is an awesome telephone.
Firstly the thing they go on and on about, the camera at 41 megapixels. I have a triple monitor set up at work and if I sit back and take a photo of all three monitors I can then zoom in and read what's written on each, plus my scrawlings on paper on my desk. That's pretty cool.
What they don't say is how good the rest of the phone is. It's fast and fluid. I'm not a fan of Metro on tablets and PCs, but on a phone (I know its not called Metro) it works really, really well. Emails and text messaging is so much better than my wife's iPhone 5. The maps are good, even showing public transport - underground and overground train lines etc.
Admittedly I'm not one for downloading apps. The only one I use is a GPS speedometer to confirm that the train really is going as slow as I think.
I'm not up-to-date with Android so can't comment, but this thing is better than an iPhone by a mile. I wish people would wake up and stop buying Apple just because it's Apple. Windows Phone deserves attention.
Trivia - where on the northern line travelling north are you really travelling geographically south?

You tell me, man!
Tell them!!!
BTW they are all good. My 920 is very ergonomic too (same UI and always snappy on all hardware)
And I know someone who downgraded from 920 to 520, works just as well (camera is not as good, that's the only obvious difference)
I think it's also better than Android save for 2 things:
- Android people have custom background, including beautiful animated ones
- Android is more customizable by the user, including some replacement keyboard (swipe?) that all my android user friend swear by!
