Whatever they write an app to do BBM messaging on. If all you use it for is standard email, then any smartphone will do.

My silly s-i-l has one. It was a cheap deal when she signed up for it in Joburg. It wasn't long after the launch of the new range. She knows of only one other person to have bought a BollockBerry. Her daughter.

What would you do if you were the unknowing victim?
It is very convincing.

1) pop home for a fresh set of underthings
2) hunt down the perpetrators for playing practical jokes on unknown people in a public place
That said, I think all of the people in the cafe were actors and/or in on the joke.

I think the whole "big ship overtaking overhead" thing has been done before, hasn't it? I'm sure I've seen it somewhere.
Maybe it's time they tried to find a new idea or two.

I got one of these the day it was released a couple of weeks ago, because if you pre-ordered you got a free accessory pack which includes wireless charging. This really is an awesome telephone.
Firstly the thing they go on and on about, the camera at 41 megapixels. I have a triple monitor set up at work and if I sit back and take a photo of all three monitors I can then zoom in and read what's written on each, plus my scrawlings on paper on my desk. That's pretty cool.
What they don't say is how good the rest of the phone is. It's fast and fluid. I'm not a fan of Metro on tablets and PCs, but on a phone (I know its not called Metro) it works really, really well. Emails and text messaging is so much better than my wife's iPhone 5. The maps are good, even showing public transport - underground and overground train lines etc.
Admittedly I'm not one for downloading apps. The only one I use is a GPS speedometer to confirm that the train really is going as slow as I think.
I'm not up-to-date with Android so can't comment, but this thing is better than an iPhone by a mile. I wish people would wake up and stop buying Apple just because it's Apple. Windows Phone deserves attention.
Trivia - where on the northern line travelling north are you really travelling geographically south?

You tell me, man!
Tell them!!!
BTW they are all good. My 920 is very ergonomic too (same UI and always snappy on all hardware)
And I know someone who downgraded from 920 to 520, works just as well (camera is not as good, that's the only obvious difference)
I think it's also better than Android save for 2 things:
- Android people have custom background, including beautiful animated ones
- Android is more customizable by the user, including some replacement keyboard (swipe?) that all my android user friend swear by!

I definitely agree with a lot of what's said here - I had a WP a couple of years ago and it served me really well (aside from app selection) - looked at the 1020 long and hard before my upgrade this month to deciding to skip it, WP just hasn't quite come far enough since I last had it, my biggest gripe being the lack of a notification centre. If an app provides a notification, you miss the popup and you don't have it pinned, then you'll never know that anything happened.
For my other half it was perfectly suitable though, and got her a 920 a couple of months ago - hope it sticks around long enough that it can mature into the OS is deserves to be and gains serious market share.

One nice feature about the navigation on the windows phone it doesn't sit there and yell at you when you stop at a gas station. The iphone gets pissed if you deviate from its route. Windows phone just shuts up, waits till you start moving again, recalculates and gets you back on the road (not really needed but never know).
Common sense is admitting there is cause and effect and that you can exert some control over what you understand.

After many years of moaning and bitching and fighting I gave up and I am now doing web development!
On the plus side it the best paid job ever by far!!
Now the thing is, web development is much better than in 1998 I have to admit (that's the year where I banned web dev from my possible interests)
And I am almost having fun!!
Today I just finished a concept / demo for a new feature, using TypeScript[^], Bootstrap[^] and KnockoutJS[^].
It's impressive what can be done with KnockoutJS, not too far from MVVM Silverlight ease!!
And Bootstrap added a nice sleek UI touch with ease too!
I think they will like it!

Bootstrap I'm not fussed about, as it's just the pretties, from what I glean...
