The answer to my next question may determine that.
How do you explain the vast multiplicity of life, its relative nearness of one species to another, and the universality of certain biological and biochemical functions even amongst very disparate genera?
If not evolution, then what? Space Pixies and Magic Dust?

Thats just rubbish that you tell your kids when they are very young.
The rest I have no idea as I have no interest in the subject.

No, there is only one theory of evolution.
And to believe in it requires very little thought or understanding.
You believe in gravity I take it.
That is only a theory of course and I doubt you have studied it in any detail either.

But this still doesn't answer the question due to my ignorance on the subject of evolution does this make me thick?
Again my ignorance is due to my lack of interest in this theory.

One does not need to have studied a subject in order to believe in it.
And it is not a question of faith.
Where evidence exists that supports a theory then the theory is sound.
Science exists mainly not to support a good theory, but to disprove a bad one.
To not accept evolution as the driving force of nature is to reject all the evidence of one's own eyes.
You can observe evolution in action, so it obviously does exist.
And there is currently NO other explanation for speciation.
Ensatina is a great example of observable speciation. It is a ring species that shows how simple evolution really is.
Melospiza melodia is another.

Dave lets start with one fact, you have an interest in the theory of evolution.
I don't have an interest in the theory on evolution, I know it exists but why should I believe in something that I have no interest in?

Now, that was a little to much.
Dalek Dave wrote: And there is currently NO other explanation for speciation.
Keyword being currently.
Science is not static. Tomorow things may change, something new may be discovered. Evolution is a theory, and as all science theories, it may be replaced by a better one someday.

If not evolution, then what? Space Pixies and Magic Dust? It sounds like you are claiming that the fact that there is so much variety and yet so much in common means there can't be a creator? Is that what you are saying? If so, why? If there is a single creator why in the world would there not be similarities? If anything, your argument supports the notion of a creator.

Are you being serious or just trying to support Dave because he is "popular"?

By the way, mentioning a creator is not bringing in religion.

OK, so if mentioning a creator is not bringing in religion, then how does mentioning sky pixies, space pixies or magic dust count as bringing in religion? Is there a "sky pixie / space pixie / magic dust" religion that I'm not aware of?
And I'm not just supporting Dave because he's popular; with the exception of the Moon landings, I happen to agree with a lot of what he says.

Quote: OK, so if mentioning a creator is not bringing in religion, then how does mentioning sky pixies, space pixies or magic dust count as bringing in religion? I Sky pixies, space pixes, and magic dust are his way of "trying" to offend religion. A creator is not religion. Religion puts attributes and characteristics to a creator.
Regardless, I don't see why you have no problem with his post, especially since he called people stupid for disagreeing with him, and have a problem with mine. Sure feels like favoritism. Not that I care, just saying.
