Yeah, this guy isn't unknown.
I think he's mostly known for Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence (as composer and actor, though I haven't seen it).

... given we have a Bank Holiday over here and it is a Brit setting. Of course, being a Welshman Pete may or may not be overly excited about proceedings.
I just wish the TV companies would take it seriously and provide a bit of coverage* ...
*For those not in the UK this should have massive sarcasm tags as the coverage is now so blanket-like you can turn on TV 24 hours a day to watch the queue of people waiting to walk past a coffin. And "news" involves asking people why they're waiting in a queue to walk past a coffin.

If I may,
Why would anything on codeproject.com be subject to United Kingdom holidays? Does the UK government lay claim to this domain?
|
|
|

Just going by precedent on other Bank Holidays.
pkfox might be too grief-stricken to be able to oblige.
And of course HMQ was head of state 15 countries (with several dozen more in the Commonwealth) even if the USA did resign from the club some time ago. So, slightly wider than a UK holiday ...

So, slightly wider than a UK holiday ... So let's be clear for all the world to see. Are you making the claim that codeproject.com has historically been under the control of Her Majesty the Queen and that moving forward will continue?
At this juncture I'd like to ask @chris-maunder and @davidcunningham to confirm this. Members of the community need to know under what jurisdiction the site is operated.
This is a formal inquiry.

Quite obviously I am not claiming any such thing. Just asking a question about the ccc.

Well,
I would like a statement from @chris-maunder or @davidcunningham confirming that we cannot post puzzles on United Kingdom holidays. Codeproject is an international site, there are so many holidays to honor. We need clarification on the subject.

So,
Are you confirming the position that codeproject.com members cannot post puzzles on UK holidays? I want a clear answer here. Yes or No?

International day of non-violence (to the English language). Very appropriate!

11 hours standing / walking in a queue that is six miles long*?
I've sat in traffic queues on the M25 that were shorter!

It could be an interesting funeral though - it's also Talk Like a Pirate day, so ...
