It's indeed interesting that you can find a paraphrase for wanker in the bible.
Or is it the opposite way around?
<edit>Then again, if I remember the bible correctly there's nothing in it that says that Onan was a wanker for real. Maybe he literally spilled his seeds, as in seeds that grows up to become wheat.

A search on SO for "onanist" produces zero results. Thus is proved - CP prevails.

I have to argee that both Codeproject and stackoverflow are very helpful sites.
Just because the code works, it doesn't mean that it is good code.

SO has a very well monitored and vetted Q/A system. I find answers on SO much more helpful than CP. On the flip side, CP provides the best organized collection of fully-functional sample MS code I've seen on the web.

They don't even have a little alien.

I see less codez please on Stack Overflow.
|

'Codez plz' on SO gets deleted mercilessly before you see it, is why. I think questions from newbies might even be pre-moderated over there.

|
|

If I understand it correctly, SO has a few people employed to answer and moderate questions. This is AFAIK not the case on Codeproject.

I thought CP also have some moderators who get paid.

There are a few staff but their job is about dealing with abusive posts and posters, not maintaining quality standards. That's a community role and as a community we've decided we'd prefer to tolerate some rubbish posts and questions in order to allow people to contribute to it quickly, whereas SO chooses to maintain a higher quality and exclude some new members who can't reach that level (yet?).

Indeed StackOverflow questions appear first on Google results, but to be fair, if i'm looking for an specific question, SO usually does better, while I tend to come to Code Project for articles... and of course the Lounge.

Both should be considered good and useful that just target to different readers and different occasions with different purposes
|
|
|
|

Both have their place.
I browse codeproject when I want to find a new idea, stumble upon an interesting point of view, concept or API someone else is playing with.
I query stackoverflow when I'm searching for an answer to a simple question someboby already had.
Notice that codeproject is more for browsing, and stackoverflow for querying.
Codeproject makes you ask better question but rarely give answers.
Stackoverflow gives answer, but never make you ask better question.
It is like if you compare a good book with google, and that you are saying that google get more view... true, but google gives you answer while the book makes you smarter.
