Well that's my curse ... today, just when i came to work my collegues told me that we got a Virus attack!
Some elephant had opend a Junkmail containing an encryption trojan.
Well now we are trying to save what is possible and backing up the other stuff.
(this dude had Access to severel netdrives :/)
A big thanks to all users who just klick on everything they get by mail!
if(this.signature != "")
{
MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);
}
else
{
MessageBox.Show("404-Signature not found");
}

I understand your pain, but what if the king of honobayalarazulaiouri really was the sender of the message, and had really added some more information for me in the attachement?
I would miss the once in a lifetime opportunity to get half of his wealth without having to do anything other than opening this attachment...

made my day
But the best user in ranking is still the one replying to an:
debt collecting agency E-Mail from sender Ohrwaschel
...
well he replied to this mail and asked what he didn't pay and why he got that E-Mail...
if(this.signature != "")
{
MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);
}
else
{
MessageBox.Show("404-Signature not found");

Did he not use a anti virus SW, i.e. a guard at the network port preventing viruses to come in? Or is this virus so new that a up to date i.e. Avira can not detect it? In which case I would jointly work with i.e. Avira.
|
|
|
|
|
the detection rate of this Virus was below 26%
which is quite good for a trojan/bot but, well it wasn't on our side this time
Deleting the Virus is not the Problem Reducing the damage done is.
if(this.signature != "")
{
MessageBox.Show("This is my signature: " + Environment.NewLine + signature);
}
else
{
MessageBox.Show("404-Signature not found");
}

OK, try googling the second part and then use your imagination.

Was it the CryptoLocker Virus?
If so you are well and truly elephanted unless you have everything backed up. You will have approximately 3 days to pay the ransom to get the files decrypted. If you miss their deadline it goes up 8 to 10 times the original amount. No known cure to the encryption.
Found a link to their Tor web page when trying to fix this for a customer a few weeks ago.

We cut of that guys Network, deleted the trojan and then restored all encrypted data with the backup.
There was really no other choice than cutting off a complete day of work in his case

Okay, this isn't intended to start a debate. I've just noticed recently that when I visit a link with a video - YouTube or the like - Chrome displays a black rectangle where the video ought to be, with full stereo sound and no picture. The same site in IE will display the video perfectly. This started a couple of months ago, and I'm wondering if a patch to Chrome might have caused it. It would also be nice to learn how to fix it, since I really like Chrome a lot better than IE.
Any thoughts?

IE uses an ActiveX version of Flash while Chrome ships its own. So maybe something with your Flash plugin is messed up in Chrome?
