Chocolate and bacon are both fattening. Like all high energy foods, the appropriate remedy is to do enough exercise that you can enjoy them without getting fat
In my case the fatty food of choice is cheese and oils in savoury dishes, as well as eating a lot of carbs. But the remedy is much the same.

Or, you can post it again.

Too true.

That question[^] made my day
Edit : Question has been deleted.
Here the complete code of space invaders:
void main(void)
{
game();
}

Wow, that ruins the fun.
It was titled something along "How do I call space invaders from main and how do I add levels", with a code dump, and with comment "I am a beginner, what is that game(); function doing ?"

Asking about what the "game" function is doing is fairly logical, the name is very non-descriptive.
They should have used "game_space_invaders" or something like that, it would have made the code far more readable.

What if they change the name of the product to vacuum space invader!?

What if they re-brand the product as Productivity Enhancer?
What is this talk of release? I do not release software. My software escapes leaving a bloody trail of designers and quality assurance people in its wake.

Wow! I never realized it was that easy!
You want to write that up as an article you know...

I had a similar experience with a new colleague who happened to be a fresher.
I was showing him the WinForms based Database client I had developed that had a striking resemblance with SQL Server Management Studio but had much more features than SSMS. Back then SSMS did not have IntelliSense (autocomplete) and I had an extensive autocomplete features implemented. It could also access other databases like Oracle and MySQL.
I was dumbfounded when I heard him saying "That's pretty easy, you must have inherited it from SSMS".

Sadly this is becoming a commonplace. Too many submitters seem to think they have discovered something new, but don't bother to do a search to see if the subject has already been covered (by a decent author). They also fail to read the submission guidelines before publishing. Maybe they are looking for instant fame.

There was one this morning that was all images, with a few words of text.
We get far too much of this: trivia, rubbish, and plagiarism.
I suspect that some people think "... and I have 5 published articles on CodeProject" will look good on their resume - ignoring that the first thing a prospective employer is going to do is look at the "articles", snort, and bin the CV even if it's otherwise a good fit...
But...we do get some good ones, it's just the get hidden by the dross sometimes.

Yep. When I see bunch of articles in moderation queue, only few are enough for article. Remainings're look like Tip/Tricks.
So many times, I dropped my suggestion(s) with Marc's article[^] to many new authors.
This is the reason why still my article count is 0

Rage wrote: Fortunately, there are also very good submissions (that keep me away from work, that is...)
They are rare, but there.
I sometimes get a feeling like everyone ones to become instantly famous by dropping a few words and then hope to get it published. Worse is only the blatant plagiarism and those who repeatedly try to submit the same trash
Over the time I wrote several articles over different topics, and made the experience that a tip consumes about half a day (up to a day) of time, while lots of my articles took me several weekends to write, mainly to get a red line through them in order to make them interesting to read - It requires not only technical knowledge, but also a bit of knowledge about the English language to get a reasonably good article out the door - Many submissions seem to lack one of either
I will never again mention that Dalek Dave was the poster of the One Millionth Lounge Post, nor that it was complete drivel.

I totally agree with the sentiment here. I don't moderate articles very much but I've seen some real dross. However, I'm not sure how you're defining 'page' but in terms of screenfuls or printed page equivalence a good two page article is very possible. I can't remember who I'm mangling a quote from but it's been said that it's easy to write a 30 page article and hard to write a 3 page one.
