My review so far....
"Chromecast arrived today.
Verdict so far? Awesome I feel like a Jedi."
I've used BBC iPlayer, YouTube, Netflix, DrawCast, LocalCast & AllCast. So far so good plays everything fast and of high quality absolutely brilliant. I would note though the Home HD movies (Don't let your imagination run wild) on my phone stuggled to play on chromecast, I've got a HTC one.

Weird feeling isn't it? Technology that does what it says, right out of the box and isn't hard to use!

Movie Quote Of The Day
They say that a man with revenge in his heart should dig two graves. One for his enemy and one for himself. I guess mine's just gonna have to wait.
Which movie?

There are just SO many clues saying it should be Enemy Mine[^]!!!

Whichever. I can't see those images. It's blocked.

I'm not saying it was the best thing ever, but it wasn't as bad as its reputation made out.
- I liked having an extra icon's worth of space on the task bar instead of the windows button.
- I liked having the Windows Store/Fullscreen/Metro apps hidden from the desktop.
- I like the start screen. If you make all the icons smallest then you can get a whole lot of shortcuts onto it.
But today I can honestly say that I definitely preferred it BEFORE they added a title bar and a close button to the fullscreen apps...
I have been helping my Mum to print using the fantastic TeamViewer Touch and as I go to close a window on her laptop, I graze the top of the screen, the title bar slides down and now I've clicked the close button for TeamViewer instead of her browser window.
Great! I'm no longer connected and I have to go through all the fuss of reconnecting. It happened 4 times!!!!
I'm very upset.

I seem to recall something about repeating an action and expecting a different result being the height of stupidity. Like some poor sod putting sugar in his coffee you are going to have to change your motor habits, keep your dammed fingers AWAY from the top of the screen.
I have no experience with 8 or 8.1 and am happy to keep it that way for this year!
Never underestimate the power of human stupidity
