You should re-correct him: the correct pronunciation is, of course, eller-ment-tree, my dear Watson. At least, that's how it is pronounced by people that speak the Queen's English which, as we all know, is correct English and not the abomination that Yanks speak.

If I heard someone pronouncing it like that, I'd immediately assume that they were not a native-English speaker.
Or a fartarsey idiot.
Probably the latter.

I'm a northerner and what? Elementary doesn't have a stress on 'tar', if anything it's on 'ment' but it's pretty neutral when I say it. And yes, emailing a scan of a spreadsheet is pure idiocy.

I find it quite amusing that scouting around various forums and reading the messages from various individuals and reading statements like
-$3000 Fail
-GPU prices are just getting silly
-Who is going to pay that for a card
-How can it be that expensive when it performs worse than a 7xx etc.
It is clear that they just do not understand what this card can actually do, beyond just making pretty graphics for gaming.
Hell, if they think that is expensive, then they clearly have never heard of the Tesla series of GPUs! Titan Z is 2500UKP, Tesla cards can be around 4000UKP.
I was just watching some of the real time physics demos from this puppy, and it is without doubt absolutely amazing.

I just got done with a trip to AZ and Utah photos[^] and there is so much more I would like to go and see. US has a lot of amazing parks and other sites, one could wonder around for years.
I also want to do a long distance backpack but not sure where yet, thinking Appalachian Trail but will have to be next year if I'm still able.

Someone round here has got a hive - I just went into the garden, and the Raspberry bushes are covered in little, teeny, tiny honey bees! (We normally get the big "we-don't-make-lots-of-honey-and-live-in-holes" Bumble variety)
Given the Bee Crisis in the UK[^] over the last couple of years, it's a good sight to see - first time I've seen 'em in ten years or more.
Anyone else got 'em locally?

Absolutely! My Bottlebrush shrubs are covered with them, and when the Ruellia are in bloom in the mornings, they swarm there as well. Of course, it's a 50-50 bet whether they are the gentle European bees or the aggressive Africanized Killer Bees, so it's best to walk softly when they're grazing.
