Have you tried Android Studio? I use both Eclipse and Android Studio and they both seem to work pretty well. Eclipse seems to be more responsive on my machine than Android Studio, so it is a toss up between the two.

Thanks for the tip. I have tried both. It's the emulator I'm having trouble with mostly.
I can't get it to start the android image even though it runs at 50% cpu for two hours before I kill it, I never see anything except a blank window.

I've had my share of troubles with the emulator as well. I stick to my actual android phone for debugging. I have had some success with the emulator by starting up the adb prior to starting up the IDE. Works okay with that approach but it still lags and has performance issues from time to time. It would be nice if they would look into making the emulator better.

Thanks for the feedback. I was considering the same thing -- using my droid pad to do debugging and forgetting about the emulator.
I'll try starting the emulator first and see if I have any luck.

Just reading the thread below, some guy posts a link to what is essentially the MVC starter page with a little bit of content added, and everything goes to hell!

I'm surprsed nobody marked it as spam or abusive. Maybe people are maturing in some ways.

Yes, but many people are 'do as I say, not as I do', and therein lies the rub.

I thought it was a balanced and reasoned discussion with a number of fine points raised. Not the usual flame war with lots of ***.

I built this site purely for a learning exercise in work. I wanted to hopefully see if anyone sees it as a fun area where people can be creative with code, in a way which may not compile however may produce a chuckle rather than an exception so check it out here -
Humorous Code.
Thanks, and anything you think can enhance this site please comment.

not really spamming. Genuine feedback, I know this. As I said a work exercise. I will develop further authentication methods

No: spam.
You join today, you post one message, and it's a link to your site.
That is a form known as "site driving spam" and it means "bye-bye"...

Cool. A non-profit driven website, just to add. I aint making a thing out of it, merely hoping some feedback and you know for some developers to maybe find some interest in it. Could actually teach, depending on how the 'potential' community it creates, contribute.

Doesn't matter.
Do you think the people who do pay money (which keeps this site running) to advertise here care about that distinction, even if it is true?

I do see people have their site in their sig all the time and no one seems to complain. Unless it is a link to something that is for sale.
