if the gerbils care...
- On Chrome, no display issues.
- Back to IE10, looking at the initial Lounge page, the ad lands in the orange zone at the bottom of the page.
- if I select an article to expand (I am using compact, very high, thread view, per page 10)
the ad does not seem to know the LZ moved.
- changed to 25 topics per page - same behavior.
Ha! Eureka! Changed spacing to Relaxed, and the correct behavior is back. gerbils take note.

I just noticed that my IP address is now showing as
2505:e000:ae85:8400:3d42:fc54:67d0:ea6d
What is this? Why is it appearing this way?

My router software must have updated because it was showing in Dot-Quad format last week.

Possible, could also be that your ISP finally started issuing v6 addresses. My router's been IPv6 capable for years, but only in the last 6 or so months did my ISP start actually issuing the addresses.

Yes, hideous isn't it? I hate IPv6.
"If it's not broken, fix it until it is" - that's exactly what they did.

debugging scenario...
can you read back your ip to me?
blah, blah, ek6d. Nope, still doesn't work.
I can see a lot of copy and paste for this because reading this back to someone, if you had to, would be a nightmare.

That's because we need billions upon billions of additional IP addresses for all the network-connected fridges that will be built.
... And then rot away in warehouses, because no-one is even remotely interested in owning one.

As others pointed out, it's an IPv6 address. Also noteworthy: Per IANA the 2505:: addresses aren't allocated for use by anyone.
Translation: This is either a simple configuration mistake or you otherwise have things (like a router/access point) on your network you really don't want.

Good passwords are hard to remember. A pattern that makes a password memorable is likely to make it vulnerable to attack.
A rather interesting scheme and allegedly secure.

Actually this is true, but we need to make use of multiple words. Password might have only one word in it, but we can have more than one word appended and mixed so that we can memorize it, and can be safe too.

While I tend to agree with you (Google the words in my above post),it this is not necessarily better, here a good read: http://arstechnica.com/security/2013/03/how-i-became-a-password-cracker/[^]
So you would need more than only putting more letters. For instance correctbatteryhorsestaple is easily found with a 4word rule in hashcat.
