No, Griff, I'm pure Pastafarian. Arrr!
But we should respect each other's beliefs (even if they involve an outdated calendar!)

So technically your DoWork() method doesn't throw an exception anymore! Consider updating it.
public class SanderRossel : BusyPerson, IPersonWithNewJob, IPersonWithTrimmedHair
{
public void DoWork()
{
PlayWithTrimmedHair();
Say("hoooo!");
FixSomeBugs();
Say("hoooo!");
DoSomeWebDevStuff();
Say("hoooo!");
PlayWithTrimmedHair();
Say("hoooo!");
ChillWithColleagues();
Say("hoooo!");
// more things here..
}
}
Your time will come, if you let it be right.

And seriously, do you have a shrine to honour my new haircut? You're getting creepy
And come to think of it, you haven't even seen it yet...

I saw this on Auntie this morning......very apt indeed.
"There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies. The first method is far more difficult." - C.A.R. Hoare

Hello all,
This is the first of two questions I have... My parents have an old P4 HT computer that has 3GB of RAM, and it says it's processor has two cores at 3,6GHz each.
It can use 64 bits operating system, but now it has windows XP 32 bits installed.
My wife's brother ditched an old computer which has 2GB of RAM and and AMD x64 athlon x2 processor at 2.00GHz each.
How would you benchmark both computers to see which one is faster in order to decide which one to keep at my parent's house?
Normally they use the computer to access Internet, send mails, write some documents and from this Christmas they will use it to stream media to their TV's using Serviio (which some times will have to transcode)...
As always thank you in advance!

See the intro at the top of the lounge: "Technical discussions are welcome, but if you need specific help please ask your question here.".

My tip would be the P4. But most important could be the graphic card, or the motherboard. Check whether they support some modern Windows. Microsoft has done a good job on Windows 8.1 in getting it leaner and faster as Windows 7.
And also think about a new tablet or laptop. They have also a new display.
Press F1 for help or google it.
