I have no idea, but presumably no bubble gum, no ass kicking?
Life is like a s**t sandwich; the more bread you have, the less s**t you eat.

What are you using?
I'm interested in something easy to use: load XML file and DTD file and wait for the magic to happen, I can afford having to press a button before magic happening...
Thank you!

Is there a way to turn off the new behaviour which auto expands messages (such as those here in the Lounge). I prefer to have the messages closed, and only open those I'm actually interested in.

I believe your cookies got flushed off.
Try the "Layout" dropdown (and "Normal" option) a couple of threads above and corresponding "Update" button on the right. It's just below the "New Discussion" button on this page.
Your time will come, if you let it be right.

Yes that's done the trick. Thanks

Has anyone heard what's going on w/ winamp? I've been using it for years and always loved it... I'd hate to have to start using something completely different if it falls off the face of the planet. Ever since the sale by AOL there's really been very little news about it.

Last I checked, Shoutcast was dead and Winamp went bye-bye. But, I just googled it and it would seem it's been bought from AOL for yet another round of life.

WinAmp has been bought by a radio company from Belgium I think. They will come up with something new soon, which will probably be touch based. Nevertheless, I am using foobar2000 since ~10 years. It is a great player and very easy to customize and extend. There is also an SDK available.
|
|
|
|
|
Is foobar cross-platform or Windows only?
|
|
|
|

It is for Windows only, but since they are (still?) raising money for an app (that will be published on iOS, Android and Windows Phone), I guess they will decouple the engine from the OS. Then a x-plat app could be possible.

I'll check it out... I hate that winamp seems to be dead.

I thought it went OpenSource after the whole AOL debacle?
I'd rather be phishing!

It didn't... they sold it to another company. The other company has been rather quiet on their plans for it. Not sure what's going on with it. I wish they'd just release the code if they're not going to do anything with it.

I got a new laptop from work that I can use for personal stuff as well.
Someone recommended I set up a virtual machine for development stuff. Not a bad idea at all! I have VMware Player installed and I'd like to create a new Virtual Machine. I need an OS though, but since it's just a bit of hobby I'm not really willing to pay for it. I'll probably be using Visual Studio 2013 Community Edition and SQL Server Express. I'll probably get some other stuff too (perhaps on yet another VM) like Eclipse and Java and maybe some other languages and environments I'd like to tinker with.
Is there some version of Linux I could use that runs all this stuff? I'm not familiar with Linux, so I wouldn't know. I could probably use it for Java, but .NET? Or maybe some free (and legal/non-copied) version of Windows I'm not familiar with?
Any idea's? Thanks
