That shows real progress, imho, in translation into Loungese !

I've done some experimenting with the numbers here on cp. And this is what I get when I use the search engine in QA and terms "(C#) AND NOT c#":

I'll see your Confucius, and raise you Aesop:
Aesop: As a countryman was carelessly driving his wagon along a miry lane, his wheels stuck so deep in the clay that the horses came to a standstill. Upon this the man, without making the least effort of his own, began to call upon Hercules to come and help him out of his trouble. But Hercules bade him lay his shoulder to the wheel, assuring him that heaven only aided those who endeavored to help themselves.

Actually I think Confucius' response to most QA crap would be more like "WHAT THE ACTUAL F*** IS THIS S***! " and then he would stab his eyes out.
QA just does that to people

Three thoughts from India, on learning:
1. Someshwara Shataka, Kannada language, written about 800 years ago.
Five Modes of Learning (adapted translation):
- From people who know (listening).
- From books.
- By seeing people do.
- Self discovery (I did it!).
- Good company (otherwise, he may misuse the learning to harm society).
While learning, the attitude of a receptacle, like an Ocean:
- Many rivers flow in (many inputs),
- Never overflows.
2. During the learning process, display of arrogance; Bhartruhari's Neeti Shataka, Sanskrit language, written about 1600 years ago:
- When I knew little, I was arrogant; I thought I knew everything.
- When, with the company of knowledgeable people , I got to know things little by little, then I realized that I am a fool, and my arrogance subsided like fever.
3. An important trait of a true man of knowledge: Humility; Kalidasa's Abhijnana Shakuntalam, Sanskrit language, similar time-frame as Bhartruhari above (there's some uncertainty in his date). This stanza is sometimes attributed to Bhartruhari also.
- Branches of trees laden with fruits bend down, and become accessible (humility).
- Clouds laden with rain water spread far and wide (spreading of knowledge).
Excuse me - this was a long one.

If Confucius had read QA section, he would have become suicidal, obviously.
There are two kinds of people in the world: those who can extrapolate from incomplete data.

You might want to exorcise your rights. Possession is nine tenths of the law, the Devil is in the details.

Reports indicate that they might pull her from life support, very soon. Now that I am a parent, stories of losing a child, is always hard for me to hear/watch/read.
Although I do not care for Bobby Brown, I do wish him strength during this hard time.

Well, there is a lot of research that shows that the parent doesn't have the most influence in a persons life, it is much more dependent on your peers like your friends. This makes logical sense also, after all these are the people that you are going to live and work with, and not your parents.

Kenneth Haugland wrote: there is a lot of research that shows that the parent doesn't have the most influence in a persons life, Not sure how accurate that is. There is plenty of data to support the fact that the home is the best place to learn values.
Of course, with few parents at home with kids now then I'm sure you're right, peers have more influence. But it should not be that way.
There are only 10 types of people in the world, those who understand binary and those who don't.
