Thank you, I learned a new term today.

Nice one! I never knew that.
... The problem being that I dare say 99% of people don't know it either, so what lunacy inspired them to use it on a "friendly" app?

The wind has dropped from Beaufort 6 to Beaufort 6! (from 50kph to 41kph)
So if I head out west-sou-west, I'll have a nice, easy ride back.

Splendid, here's a ad free forecast[^] hour by hour with wind speed in nearest 1 m/s.

I admire your optimism.
You know that on any read that has a headwind going out will also have a headwind coming back.

It didn't happen today, though -- so the number 0.1% really does exist!

I think it has something to do with the user's location. I would use a third-party weather app instead.

I'll point you to a new ad-free (and completely free) alternative shortly.

I used to use WeatherMate, way back when, but it got really slow to load.

I think you'll be (very) pleasantly surprised with the new version. I'll ping you when it's ready and you can give it a try if you like. Unlike its predecessor, the latest version is a 100% portable app - nothing to install.

Happy to give it a look, but I really, really want to fix the one app that I have on my start screen.
(That's partly because I don't want to have to go to the bluddy awful app store to look for more.)

Not bad! It's like an old pal has come to visit.
The only negative comments I can make are that the "Today" forecast gets truncated at two lines, and I had to handle its auto-starting manually (we're lazy, these days; we just want to put a tick in a box).

Thanks for your comments, Mark. The "Today" box should display a tooltip that shows the entire forecast. Yeah, I need to add the auto-start bit.
Thanks again!

It's quicker! A lot quicker!
And the double-click is handy on the tray icon -- in fact, all the new stuff is worth having. Nice work.

Because if you mention using windows in CP, some snide bugger suggests installing Linux.

We told the wind to be at 28.17, stat, but it didnÄt want to listen.
