After the snipping he was given a bit of wine and quickly quieted down. I expect that this AM he woke up with a hangover and a sore putz - welcome to the real world!

Hey everyone. I haven't posted in a while, but now that I need something I'm crawling back.
Anyways, there is a magazine in Canada called "Cineplex" that has a blurb about a comedy show I run.
The issue is March/April 2015, Volume 16, Number 3. It has the Shailene Woodley on the cover.
The blurb is on the bottom of page 8 under "The Art of Film" You guys might like it, a fellow comic and friend of mine paints classic pictures with Chewbacca in them. Here is a link to the digital version, scroll to page 8.

Anyways, I'm seeking a physical copy of the whole issue, for my comedy scrapbook. If any Canadians have a copy laying around or can grab one, I'll paypal over some reimbursement for shipping and your trouble ($5 sound okay?).

You can post it as an ad in some newspaper, and you might get a positive response.

Just a suggestion - if you look at wizardzz's original post, it includes an "Email" link, which means you can continue without either of you giving out physical address details in public?

I've just received my new laptop (t450s) and it comes licensed for windows 8.1 but it comes with windows 7 installed.
I'm thinking about installing the already licensed windows 8.1 there, but... does anyone here know how to make it and keep all the bells and whistles from Lenovo (system update, all the keyboard shortcuts...). I've searched the internet but I've not been able to find out how to do it.
I've been working with Win 8.1 for a long time now and even I do like the old start menu, I like being able to change the input language by pressing windows + space, being able to pause file transfers, the possibility to put the more used shortcuts at the first "start menu" stage...
I don't know if it will be worth the effort as soon Microsoft will release windows 10 which will be clearly something I want to install in that laptop...

Win7 -> 8.1?
That's not an Upgrade...

Apart of losing the nice recent files in some start menu elements... what is worse in Win 8.1 in relationship with Windows 7?
Just crious about what others think about it... it has worked well for me for a long time...
Thank you!
I've posted a complete new thread with that question so everyone that feels doing it will be able to answer.

From a "normal" user POV it's a PITA: it's schizophrenic, it treats you like a baby in metro apps (only showing about five "things you can do" in large icons is even worse than the damn ribbon: see the "Pictures library" app which won't even let you print the damn things!), it's slower and harder to get at apps you want (unless you work out how to group things, and then you still have to swipe sideways for an hour before you get there), etc., etc.
It's a tablet OS, and as such it probably works well (a bit clunky compared to the competition, but...)
As a desktop OS it's a major step back in usability. Most users don't care that "it starts fast" or any other technical improvements - if it slows them down during their normal tasks it's a POS...

I know it's bad of me to answer your direct question with a "don't do it!", but I really can't see what advantage you would get from upgrading whatevering from Win 7 to Win 8.
Joan Murt wrote: I like being able to change the input language by pressing windows + space That's been the default since XP, at the very least, but you can set any keyboard shortcut you like for it.
Joan Murt wrote: being able to pause file transfers Wow! Are you one of the few who actually uses Windows Explorer?
There are sooooo many better, smaller, faster apps that have all the functionality that explorer should have.
Joan Murt wrote: the possibility to put the more used shortcuts at the first "start menu" stage Even if you only use the desktop and shortcuts, you can arrange them how you like -- and never have to scroll sideways to see them all (although it's best to get something like Iconoid, to remember the positions of everything).
And if you really want to, you can even make your Win 7 Desktop shortcuts larger -- all the way to baby-block size -- with Ctrl + mouse-wheel up.
