My wording was intentional.
I call it self-deprecation turned cynicism, and it gets the point across.

It seems like every few months my wife comes to me to help her figure out iTunes. "It told me to update and now everything is moved around and I can't find XYZ..." That's besides the rarer "my playlists have disappeared" or "where are they putting her ripped CD's now?".
Unfortunately she has no choice but to use it since she has an iPhone.

Is the NAS using SMB for access? Microsoft only invented hard links recently, and SMB predates that by something like a decade.
We can program with only 1's, but if all you've got are zeros, you've got nothing.

Yeah - it is SMB
Disappointing that the app doesn't detect if it's requirements aren't supported...

That is his fighting style. His opponent was asked, "You knew that coming in, didn't you know you had to do something to make him stay?" He gave a vague response. Maybe he should have researched his opponent better and come up with a strategy to beat him.

I get more programming done drunk on a saturday night (providing I work on a project of my own choosing) than I do all week, (reasonably) sober, working on the work I'm supposed to work on...
Am I really the only one?

I spent all day working on a simple SSIS progress monitor. And I had a beer.

I've certainly looked at my "drunk code" in the cold light of day and thought "What?", and "Why?"

I dunno, I'm sober now, and the code still looks pretty good. And most importantly: It works...

Long ago I used to often like a beer to 'take the edge off', and open my mind a bit, and get on really achieving some nice work, but toward the end of my drinking career, I gave that up when I found booze, very especially beer, made me lazy and only opened my mind to better things in life than work, like doing nothing.

This Sunday I tried to hack my soundcard; managed to get a couple more channels integrated into Pulseaudio.
Not perfect yet, I'll be replacing the card with one that claims Linux as it's home, but I did a double take when sitting down with plenty of beer and I entered a new, 3-D world of music and video.
