Difficult...
Possibly one of these - all films I'd watch again...
The Abyss
Mad Max 2
Quatermass and the Pit
The Fifth Element
Brazil
Dark Star
The Matrix
Blade Runner

Of the Quatermas films/mini series, this is my favorite: Quatermas II [^]
I remember seeing this as kid and it frightened the crap out of me. Fortunately, there was a Morecombe and Wise on after it so all ended well.

Yep. The special effects were rubbish, and the acting was... Um... Stilted... But that meant they had to have a storyline that worked.
And scared the crap out of you as well...: thumbsup:

You are talking about Morecombe and Wise?
On that note, there was a comedy play a few years ago called "The Play What I Wrote" which was about those 2. It was elephanting hilarious.

Dark Star
Fantastic movie - I could watch it (and have) time and again.
And even just writing this I have the theme tune in my head!

Indeed. Including my submissions: Two contemporary films.
Another Earth (2011) If you can suspend disbelief at the physical consequences of having another orbiting mass so close to earth, it was not too bad. It doesn't hurt that the protagonist (Brit Marling) is very easy on the eyes.
Europa Report (2013) A manned exploratory space flight to Jupiter's moon. No spoilers.

Wait, what? Planet of the Apes isn't total fantasy? The Terminator is a documentary? Forbidden Planet's breathable atmosphere and humanoid aliens is more believable than a war between good and evil in a far distant galaxy?

Not meant to be taken seriously - I was referring only to Star Wars, of course!
Besides, there is a difference between science fiction and science fantasy and then there are sub-genres of each.
BTW: what humanoid aliens in Forbidden Planet??? The Krell? In any case why shouldn't aliens be humanoid in appearance? Just as much chance of that as any other form/ I suppose there might be some that look like a mattress...

I sympathize with you. IMHO, HP's machines (esp. laptops) leave a lot to be desired and I haven't heard good things about their support either. Good luck.

I had Dell's, and when the went out I ended up with 2 HP's, which have worked great - until now.
I took it to a repair shop and he said the motherboard went out, so I'll just let them fix it.... if I can find where to take it or how to contact their repair.

Sorry - no.

Simple: If you can't contact them, you can't get it fixed under warranty. This is cheaper for them than actually providing a service department.
Or am I just a Cynical Old Fart?
