Congratulations. Now shouldn't you be off doing something that old people do, like shouting at the neighbourhood kids?

Well happy birthday!
Possibly I'm not observant enough, but I'm often surprised at the age of people on here. 'IT' seems to have this perception of being a young-person's pursuit, and I fear I'm in a profession where I'll be cast out for no other reason than being too old one day (and not too far in the future!)
But, more and more the evidence stacks up the other way. The more 'mature' developers remember what it was like before .NET trivialised development, and this site certainly demonstrates that age has no bearing on knowledge or competence.
That's reassuring information. Wish I was older now, why-oh-why was I born too late for punched cards!
Have a great day!
Regards,
Rob Philpott.

Ee lad, we 'ad to get up before we went to bed, sharpen the hole punches with our tongues, and then hand crank out t'cards until it were time not to go to bed again. And if you say that to kids today ... they won't believe yer!

Skipper: We'll fix it.
Alex: Fix it? How you gonna fix this?
Skipper: Grit, spit and a whole lotta duct tape.

Yeah, they say men rarely mature emotionally and psychologically past the age of 13.

PS. Saw your reply that you were born in Mussoorie.

My dad's family had been in India for 4 or 5 generations. I don't know if they did any oppressing, but there were quite a few Indian people who were in tears when we left.
