My car
I am sat on the A31 between Farnham and Guildford with what appears to be a blown water pump.
The family was with me but decided to walk to the train a mile away.
Sad, sober and steaming.

Not the Hogs Back? Isn't the Hotel still open?

The same but I'm down at Farnham.
We are members at the hotel's health club and may have stopped there for lunch.
Now I'm waiting for the tow-truck.

Surely all the pubs in Farnham can't have closed down? What about the cafés in Lion & Lamb Yard? The one on the right sells alcohol IIRC.

Either that's abusive, or your command of Hungarian has improved this week!

That's not too bad - just over 2 hours for a breakdown, pickup and return to home.
Now the fun bit: getting it fixed. "Oh, they don't sell just that bit sir. You'll need a new engine..."

I doubt I can get a new engine, my best chance there will be a recon. Today I shall go over and take off the water pump, which I think is the problem, and check it out.
Then it's finding out what went wrong and how I'm going to fix it. I would like her up and running before we go to Hungary in 3 weeks.

Good luck - What is it, an MG of some type IIRC (and I probably don't)?

MG B-series engine in a Carlo Fandango Body. I have decided to check the thermostat first before taking off the water pump, etc.

Wait right there; we're sending a St. Bernard with a cask of gin.

I had that happen at 11 at night on a lonely stretch of Interstate 5 out in California, driving to San Diego.
As luck / angels would have it, I had just passed the only offramp in probably 20 miles in each direction, where there was a gas station and hotel. I heard it pop and temp started rising, I did a fast U-turn across the grass divider, drove up the offramp and cut the engine, literally coasting from the overpass down to the gas station.
Stayed the night, the gas station guy had to drive 50 miles to get a replacement. My girlfriend missed her final at UCSD, hahaha.

All kinds of serial killer movies came to my mind while reading this. "The Hitcher", being at the top.

Heh. That was the last thought in my mind. I was thinking more along the lines...broken down car...girlfriend...nice hotel room...

Quite pleased with my 8/10! Have tried most of them. ..lure my pasta (and it shows! )
Checked out the "5 ingredients to cook like an Italian" too. ..and have them all - yes the tomato sauce in the freezer is home-made. Not sure I'm a food snob but there are definite indications of being a food geek

Must have been a different link (it is the way of these pages after all) ... Dried pasta and fresh herbs were on the list I saw and no meat.
Sorry reply is so late - I've been away in another country in europe

What do you use for bait?

Ha Ha! Originally I wrote "love" but with 'u' and 'r' as the spelling (old fashioned and twee, I know) ... spell correct must have kicked in without me noticing
I'll have to give some thought as to which bait to use
Here, pasta, pasta ...
