I stand corrected.
I always open them with winzip, thus the format.
Thanks for correcting me.
Also, I'm not your buddy, buddy.

I use two monitors, and have a pair of pictures adjusted to fit.
Perfectly, on WIn7: "Sun from Mars" on Left, Portrait monitor; "Sun from Earth" on right, landscape.
Not so on Win10: Bits of each all over the place. Have to find a replacement for "Dual Wallpaper"
Edit: found it. http://www.tenforums.com/customization/6360-setting-different-backgrounds-dual-monitors-windows-10-a.html[^]
Why do I have a task bar on both monitors? I didn't on Win7, and don't need one on both. Let's play hunt the settings...done.
What happened to Aero? Everything looks so flat, and dull and ugly...
OK...the tiled start menu I will probably get used to. But why can't I right click and get rid of Twatter for example?
And when I go looking for it, why is the font in the settings pages twice the size of the font everywhere else?
I'm just guessing this is going to be a bit of a "curate's egg" - but I'm yet to see anything I like, which is dissapointing.

Ermmmhhh, because it's convenient, maybe?
That's why I've been using ultramon for years. I know exactly which icons in the taskbar are applications currently displayed on the respective monitor. So yes, I would find this to be a good thing except my download for Windows 10 hasn't even started yet and everything was done to try to get it started.

It isn't convenient, unless the two are different. Two identical taskbars just takes up valuable screen space on my VS monitor!
Fortunately, it was easy to turn off.

That's what I meant. With UltraMon I get only those icons in the task bar(s) that are currently being displayed (or minimized) on that one monitor. Having an identical taskbar with all application icons of every monitor would indeed not be making sense at all.
Cheers!

The task at can be set to only show what's on that monitor. It is the same setting as the virtual desktop feature.

I'm not real impressed either, been helping my brother that updated a couple of days ago and it's a mess! He's just barely computer literate and very impatient so it makes it 10 times worse! (He's doing it because I'm trying to teach him more about computers and I'm trying to pick up Win10)

i liked it OK until i discovered that it breaks VS2005's handling of PCH files. so i've had to disable PCH use for projects i have to build with VS05.
(yes, i have to use VS05. yes, i know it's old. yes. i know)
that's almost as annoying as the fact that VS15 hangs when you try to do scripted command line builds via DEVENV.

Then why at all bother installing Windows 10 man? Windows 10 is just required if you are going to develop for Windows 10. Otherwise, there is no need for Windows 10.

it turns out that MS didn't advertise that Windows 10 was going to break VS2005!
it's just one of those rare situations where you don't know about something beforehand.

Microsoft just bragged about releasing Visual Studio 2015 along with it and that Windows 10 apps can be programmed in it.

I did, a bit - and like nearly everyone else decided it was nasty.
But this is what has to "save Microsoft" - and first impressions count, a lot. So far, it's most of the nasty bits of win 8 without the good bits of win 7...

I do agree Windows 7 was best OS ever (as far as my usage of Windows is concerned), but Windows 8 is better than Windows 10. In many ways, indeed there are no good things in this installment. But, Microsoft is no longer what it was intended to be when Bill found Microsoft. *take a deep breath, and*

After W8.x which I hated at the beginning... learned to love it after recognizing that also very old borland runs without Problems (less than on W7)... W10 is pretty ok for me.
But be Aware, I took the Chance to "learn" W8.x for one year

While in some ways I feel your angst - c'mon! You're whinging about an *operating system* because you will have to spend some tie to get you *wallpaper pictures* sorted out?!
task bar on both monitors? Daft(ish) On OSX there's a task bar on both but only visible on the active monitor - sort of auto-hidden until the mouse goes down there - I find that a good solution so turning on auto-hide might be a solution for you?

Yes.
Because this is (some of) the user experience that turned normal users (rather than developers) off Win 8.
And the idea was that this was "7 with knobs on" not "8.1 toned down a bit".
I'll stay with it for a while at least, but... This needs too be good or MS has some real problems.

Getting a taskbar in all the monitors is super useful when using the mouse you want to activate an application and you are not in the first monitor... but I've read what you said about different monitors... Then I don't know, it can be disabled (as you say) so it should not be a big problem I've installed actual multiple monitors and it works like charm to get this in Windows 7.
Regarding the "twatter" issue you should be able to right click any tile and select Unpin (or something similar) to get it removed.
Hope this helps OG!
