I am just writing some code in a script language that ressembles C in a third-party tool. Both new to me.
And I needed to convert hex chars in decimal (for instance "0F" -> 15), and there is of course no built-in function for that.
So I have made ... an ASCII-index based look-up table. Bad, bad me.
But it works !

In another part, I convert one value from decimal to a string of hex chars, and make a strcomp to check a match with another hex string.
