Trying to order some clothes, but the size table only lists the width of clothes.
What happened to length?
I never had a problem with width, I'm a skinny guy!
I would really very much like to know the lengths though.
I currently wear size S which may be just right or just a few cm's too short, in which case I need M.
This is why I hate clothes shopping...

Good find!
The cat is just awesome though. Hasn't ruined a thing yet
I just got a few days off work to look after my cat, so I decided to shop for clothes too

Italian?
I'm retired. There's a nap for that...

Wait
Your job gives you days off to watch a cat?
|

No, I took a few of my off days to watch after my cat.
I got 25 days a year, so I figured I could spare a few

You mean you got caternity leave?

Are they dress slacks or suits? Those don't have a length, only width. The length is so outrageously long as to cover anyone and you take them to a tailor to have it cut, cuffed, and hemmed.

Nope, just a pullover

I don't think tops have ever been sold any other way to be honest. I can't remember ever seeing lengths specified for anything you put your arms through/in.
|
|
|
|
|
I found plenty that do.
Back length (that's from shoulder to bottom) and arm length (from shoulder to bottom of the sleeve).
Makes sense as you want your clothes to fit in length too, right?
|
|
|
|
|
Oh, you European sophisticates, with your fancy idea of clothes that fit! Is it any wonder we Brits want out from the EU!
|
|
|
|
|
There are plenty of clothes outlets in Britain that offer different lengths for shirts and tops.

If you say so. As someone with a disproportionately long back and therefore an interest in such matters, all I can say is that I've yet to find one in my spending bracket. Do they exist only at the Russian oligarch end of the market?

I see collar size, I see sleeve length ... back length, not so much! And that's only in formal shirts. Casual are just standard T-shirt sizes meaning that if you want extra length you gotta take extra width. I remain unconvinced.

I figured out a revolutionary solution to the problem.
- Go to store of some sort that sells clothing
- try them on
- buy those that fit
- don't buy the others.
I've found this revolutionary idea to work under most conditions (i.e., if sober).
"The difference between genius and stupidity is that genius has its limits." - Albert Einstein | "As far as we know, our computer has never had an undetected error." - Weisert | "If you are searching for perfection in others, then you seek disappointment. If you are seek perfection in yourself, then you will find failure." - Balboos HaGadol Mar 2010 |

Your solution is also really very time consuming.
As in the nearest city with decent clothing shops is about an hour drive.
I'm sorry, I guess I'm not ready for your revolution just yet

Option: relocate?

Damn you, and your logic!

I have the uncanny ability to get the wrong size, even after trying them on. My son tends to inherit the odd bit of clothing that is usually too small by the time it gets home - optimist I guess.
