That looks good and definitely a Drone according to the media it has a camera.
Do you fly it in Headless mode?
|
|
|
|
|
Until I'm more confident with it, yes. The camera's pretty good.
|

I've been impressed with the camera on mine, the pictures it took hovering just above my living room carpet when I first got it are quite disturbing. Needs a bloody good clean.

Aw! No fair!
Battery: 7.4V 2000Mah Li-poly
Charging time: About 200 minutes
Flying time: About 7 minutes
So, if we ignore MarketingDweebSpeak, that's 3 1/2 hours to charge it, and 5 minutes in the air?
Frustrating, I'd have thought unless you have a huge pile of spare batteries ready to quick swap.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

When I bought mine it came with 4 spare batteries.

Get yourself a better charger. I need about 50 minutes for my 5000 mAh 6s lipos.

What charger do you recommend.

I have a Robbe Power peak D7, but Robbe recently went out of business. I know someone who has a charger with a 2000W power supply, so that he can charge up to six Lipos at once.

That is a bit of a slow charging rate, agreed. I normally charge at 1-2C so the battery is fully charged in < 30 minutes.
7 minutes flight time is about average for most flying craft with normal sized batteries to be honest, until we get lightweight compact nuclear power systems.

I think 'normal' helicopters do a little better than multicopters. With the T-rex 550 I could fly 10 minutes. With half symetric blades and a lower headspeed even something around 14 minutes is possible.

Agreed, my T-rex 550 can manage similar flight times, not when doing 3D though.
I could also strap a 20000mah 3s Lipo to my 600 size quad frame and get 30+ minutes though if required.
Have you ever tried 250 racing quads with FPV? Great fun! Also the most rapidly expanding aspect of the hobby.

No, but FPV on the T-Rex and then making some flight videos of all the landscapes you can reach, from the mountains to flying past ships going out to sea.

It's just a weak charger. I charge my 5000mAh 6s Lipos with a current of 5A in about 50 minutes.

One main rotor, one vertical tail rotor. That's all you need, just as Igor Sikorsky built it.

Don't get me wrong I fly "normal" rotary wing aircraft too, but I do think if Igor Sikorsky had access to clever multi-rotor electronics he may well have done things differently.
I also think NOTAR helicopters are a great invention, so only a main rotor.

Hi,
This time it's not language, code formatting etc. It the full stop '.' and how many spaces should be left after them. I say one as the Word Processor will automatically pad the space, the typist (who learned when Dinosaurs and Manual Type writers rules the earth, Imperial 66 (a copy of an IBM...)). It's a hole I have been down many times, Just wondering if anyone else has!

That's exactly why I love machine language. Every time a style Nazi shows up, I ask him which part of hexadecimal he did not understand.

I bet the typist doesn't even know why he (or she) uses double spaces. Apparently it was down to early typists wanting to mimic the layout from type setters - who dropped the practice about 60 years ago. It's widely accepted practice, pretty much everywhere now, to use single spacing.
