Well I quite prefer to live a quiet life, enjoying it and dying old due to natural causes (hopefully without a long illness), surrounded by my family
than living a life hiding, fearing or fighting for my life surrounded by devastation and chaos
Yes... we all have to die. But it DOES matter and there is a BIG difference.

"Eventually" is still a long way. Not in our lifetime, and unless the current trend changes, simply "not".

From: http://www.computerworld.com/article/3009657/it-skills-training/best-black-friday-tech-books-and-video-sales.html[^]
O'Reilly has 50% off on all ebooks and videos -- 60% off if you spend more than $100 -- with code CYBER15. The discount is good through 5 a.m. PT Monday, December 1.
InformIT is offering discounts of 35% for one item or 55% for two with code BF2015. Unlike O'Reilly, this deal includes paper books with free shipping in the U.S. as well as ebooks and video tutorials.
All Apress ebooks are on sale for $10 today through Monday, Nov. 30. Springer eBooks are on sale for $20.
Udemy had thousands of courses on sale for $10 each earlier in the week. Price is up to $15 for Black Friday today, but that's still a significant discount on some courses' regular prices.

Okay, seriously, you marked that as spam? Honestly, I am at the Apress site right now looking at the deals. $10 for tech books is fantastic. Get a life. I don't get anything out of this. Check out the computerworld article. was trying to help. Whatevs!!

Might have been an automatic reaction, seeing your name I read the post and saw it was Good not interested in tech books now and paper copies are shipped only in US so I really don't need any of these, but thanks anyway from a bibliofile!

Yes, I can see that, but it was an attempt at a genuine help. Ah well.
Thanks for resisting.

I picked 7 courses for $10 each at the start. Agree that there're nice courses @ cheaper prices.

Hi,
As I am sure many will know I am looking for a job, as such I have recently had several face to face interviews and am waiting for the results. How long am I supposed to wait for the responce, I am thinking now I have waited long enough for results (a week plus). I know the accepted line these days appears to be 'if you hear nothing, you ain't got it', also agents calling with Private Numbers gets on my nerves as you don't know if it's an agent or a PPI claim. I had one this morning picked up the phone, it's still connected to the charger drop phone and when I get the phone to my ear the line drops...

after 1 week, call and ask for the status. Sometimes the process takes longer and the'll actually appreciate your interest.
|
|
|

In my experience, if it's a yes they respond the same day (for small to medium sized companies). Larger companies 200+ employees take a couple of days (more people to interview and more HR bureaucracy i guess).
In any case, good luck.
And yes agents with private numbers are very annoying...

After a week a quick call shows interest, and allows you to ask "if you don't mind telling me, what persuaded you to pick the other guy?" - if nothing else you might get constructive criticism of your interview technique.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...

Bet you he wouldn't, they would be worried he might sue for slander or drop by and smack them around a bit. I faarrrkkkking hate the fact no one has the balls left any more to let people not only know they haven't got the job but explain if they haven't the experience or knowledge in a particular area.
