Looks like Q&A. I only visit the forums
FWIW, part of WinAPI can be installed on Linux using Wine.

Ok, thank you for your Feedback. Wine I "know", but I'm not sure whether I can trust it "compatibility wise".
Thanks again.

Wine can never become 100% compatible, but I can run Warcraft and Notepad++. There's a list of games/applications that have been tested and verified, a large part is available. Even Mono is not 100% the same as .NET on Windows; there's subtle differences that can give quite different results.
It is easier to develop for Linux and try to remain compatible with Windows, then the other way around.

You're welcome; and yes, seems like Wine is maturing, albeit too slow to actually keep up.
It is nice as a lowcost platform, gives one options that would be to expensive using Windows.

I'm reading a book on them at the moment and it was in front of me. I thought it might work, but never mind.

Movie Quote Of The Day
I just don't, I don't understand. Why me? Why me? I am nobody. I am nothing. They knew, they knew everything about me. They knew. They knew what I ate, they knew what I drank, they knew what movies that I watch, they knew, they knew, they knew what, where I was from, they knew what cigarettes I used to smoke, and, and, and everything they, they did, they must have watched on the, on the Internet, I don't know, watched my credit cards? Our whole lives are on the computer, and they knew, they knew that I could be vanished. They knew that nobody would care, that nobody would understand, and that you would, that it wouldn't matter anymore.
Which movie? Do you know ?
