Apparently, Clarkson bought it from him, and has been complaining about how much money it loses ever since ...

Suicide Silence - Dying Life[^]
Suicide Silence released some new songs.
Their motto is: as heavy as possible!
A pretty accurate way to describe the deathcore of this Californian outfit!
What more needs to be said?

done done done. worked about 10 hours today, hacking our control unit hardware after it was fabbed with my engineer being my hands working across the country from me (diagonally too, in FL - i'm in WA)
went from about 10% working to about 70% today.
I'm the software person. This isn't my department. But we're behind the 8 ball and I don't accept failure very well, so it's just easier not to fail, though we will miss tomorrow's deadline.
That wasn't my fault though. The firmware was ready a month ago and tested as much as I was able with the hardware I had. It has held up very well so far to banging on it in the wild today. The biggest modification was changing it to match last minute changes in the hardware.
Monday we will have a working board for our client.
At least I'll sleep well tonight.

I am curious, and somewhere over the years this may have been answered, but what is all this nifty hardware and software actually being used for? A commercial product? An in-house controller?

In this case it's commercial stuff, and HVAC related

Because you just gotta play Doom on an HVAC.

Ah so, why you did fan speed controller homework?

Once upon a time, the CEO of the software company I was working at told my team we had to complete the app by EOD Friday or the company would fold.
So we worked through that entire week - I was literally up and working for 114 hours straight. Got it done (with a lot of triple lattes and takeout).
When I tried to get up out of my chair, I found my back had totally seized up. My co-workers had to call an ambulance, as I was totally incapacitated. After brief stunt in the hospital and a lot of pain killers and muscle relaxants and several days of rest, I could move around again with minimal discomfort.
Afterwards the CEO told me it really wasn't that dire a situation for the project or company...
Moral of story: work hard, but don't kill yourself. It isn't worth it....
