Wait. You didn't hack the server to announce it on every screen in the place 3 times a day throughout the whole of December? And you call yourself a coder! Only got yourself to blame.

Don't feel too badly. My own mother forgot that today is my birthday... Happily, all my friends at TheFirearmsForum remembered it.

I'd enjoy knowing what you may be planning (imagining) what you'll buy/upgrade-to in the next year.
I anticipate that sometime in 2016 I will get a tablet, probably one of the newer jumbo-sized wonders (that choice influenced by declining vision), and, definitely, a new monitor.
I doubt I'll upgrade my current main-beast (Z97-D3H, i5-4670K, based) this year, although I will definitely bump the memory up to 32 gigs when/if DDR3 @1600 memory takes another significant step-down in price. Yeah, you can tell, I'm not a gamer.
I wouldn't mind an MS Win "Book," but, the price is way too high for me to consider.
Going to sell my (once high-end) lap-top, and not get another one. Just don't need it.
Software ? No plans for "work;" for "hobby: try out (possibly buy) the GuitarToMidi conversion software from JamOrigin, when/if they get it upgraded to support alternate tunings.
Windows 10: maybe around June, when it might be no longer a "beta in drag as release," and, when its intrusive user-monitoring is de-fanged.
While all this could change should a "client" fall from the sky, and I was offered some interesting work, I doubt that will happen, and I don't need that to happen to over the "basics," and am not looking for that. I got novels to finish
cheers, Bill

Merry Christmas Bill!
The tablet - I got Herself a Samsung Galaxy Tab S (10.5") instead of the newer S2 (9.7") because it's easier for her to see as well (she has problems with my 7" tablet) and it's a cracking display - if it fitted in my pocket like the Nexus 7 I'd be tempted myself!
Well worth a look, especially as the new one is out and that should push prices down.

I'm going for an upgrade from says they're waterproof but aren't really walking boots to actually are waterproof walking boots. Think that's about the extent of my ambition!

Any particular boots in mind? I've been cycling through rainstorms and walking large distances a lot lately, and I'm also in the market for waterproof walking boots.

Not yet. I got my last really good pair by chance from a market stall in Norwich well over 20 years ago so the current range is all a bit of a mystery to me still (as evidenced by the pair that I now need to replace). The annoying thing is that I would still have the aforementioned wonders if I hadn't somehow contrived to lose them in my last move a couple of years ago!

No plans to upgrade my dev box (Brix i7, 16G, 500G SSD, 4" x 4" x 2" footprint), my Google Nexus 7 (1st gen) tablet or my circa 2012 HTC Desire C Android (4.0) phone. I was tempted to upgrade the phone, but received a Google Nexus 5 phone from work (for development) that I get to take home.
That said, I've been eyeing this beauty[^] (Electro-Harmonix B9) for a while, but common sense tells me I prolly won't spring two hundred bucks for this (admittedly cool!) toy.

Happy New Year, Ravi-ji,
The Brix i7 really does look cool; can you keep your coffee warm by putting the cup on top of it ? The thought occurs to me that I could stick at least eight of those inside the gargantuan CoolerMaster 912 HAF case I bought from an expat leaving the country for a song ... not that I'd know what to do with them
The toy I am lusting for is also musical, and about the same price as your fantasia; a stick-on-the-back-of-your-acoustic-guitar device that produces reverb/tremolo, etc. without pick-up, or amplifier: [^]. Larry Mitchell's demo shows it off on nylon-string guitar: [^].
cheers, Bill

Happy new year, Bill-ji!
The Tone Wood Amp looks very interesting. A novel idea, for sure! Here's ADM[^] giving it a whirl.
Re: the Brix, no it runs pretty cool. I rarely hear the fan.
