I have heard of these people, but I assumed you had to be in a relationship with one or more blood relative to join.

Hey – you’re in Europe. At this stage of the game, isn’t everyone more or less related?*

IIRC, there have not been enough people born in the history of mankind for anyone to not be inbred. Though in most cases this probably crossing over at 8-10 generations back and not one or two as is the case in Arkansas.

They do say that every European is related in some way to Charlemagne. I certainly have his eyes. Wonder if anyone's noticed they're missing?

I'm trying not to comment on US politics at the moment and I especially will not denigrate* Trump supporters for their political allegiances.
* For any Trump supporters, "denigrate" means to "put down"

Well...no.
criticize unfairly; disparage.
"doom and gloom merchants who denigrate their own country"
synonyms: disparage, belittle, diminish, deprecate, cast aspersions on, decry, criticize unfairly, attack, speak ill of, speak badly of, blacken the character of, blacken the name of, give someone a bad name, sully the reputation of, spread lies about, defame, slander, libel, calumniate, besmirch, run down, abuse, insult, slight, revile, malign, vilify; More (Google)
Blacken is a synonym, but only in conjunction with clarifying words - and it has a subtle difference in meaning.
Bad command or file name. Bad, bad command! Sit! Stay! Staaaay...
